Hi Julie! I've been away sick for a couple of days, so I missed the opportunity to tell you and Dan to have a great time! So, instead, hope your trip was wonderful and magical!

Wish I'd thought of going down for the long weekend!

I hope you have a great trip Julie! Have a Mickey bar (or two for me)!

Hope that you are having a blast, Julie and Dan. A trip to WDW....just the thing after a stressful year at school. :earsboy:

Dan and I arrived home last night after a great long weekend at Disney! We met up with Scratch42 and her daughter to go shopping at Orlando Premium Outlet Mall and to have CP breakfast. Katypop also joined us at CP. It's always fun to meet up with a fellow DISer or two!

This was the first time I drove to Buffalo, myself and I'm happy to say that all went well. We breezed through the border both ways with no traffic problems despite the long weekend. We crossed at Fort Erie.

Since our flight left for Orlando early Friday morning, Dan and I drove down on Thursday afternoon and stopped in at Walden Galleria Mall before heading to the Quality Inn. We also stopped in at Borders and the Krispy Kreme next door, across from the mall.

This trip I discovered the food court at MCO on the return trip and there's a KK there so, of course, we stopped in! ;)

DME worked perfectly for us and from checkin to pulling out on the bus was 20 minutes at most ~ 5 min to checkin, 10 min at most wait in the "Pop Century Line" and another 5 min before we left. We had carryon luggage. For the return trip, they substituted a Mears bus and we almost missed it, waiting for the DME bus, until I noticed the vouchers people were giving the driver looked strangely like the DME ones. Dan and I had been waiting inside our resort. POP was the first stop on the way in (All Stars was the other) and we made no other hotel pick-ups on the way back to the airport.

We flew SWA and while they are not a participating airline, they now have a special checkin desk down on the ground transportation level so we were able to avoid the huge line-up at the main checkin desk. I wasn't able to get my boarding passes online but we still managed to get "A" for the flight down and "B" on the way back because we were at the airports early.

The weather was gorgeous...it certainly was a change to come back home again. We only had a short shower on Saturday night but we were just going into Trail's End Buffet for dinner, so missed it, really.

Dan and I went to Typhoon Lagoon and MK and EPCOT, DTD, resort hopped and tried to take as many boats for transportation as possible. I find this so relaxing! We were busy at times but generally it was a much more laid back trip for me and actually, I really enjoyed it. We did get to ride Soarin' and really enjoyed the sensation of flying over California. What I saw of the Flower and Garden Show was pretty, especially the butterfly garden, but we were getting tired and didn't feel like a lot of walking, to see everything. I think it was starting to wind down anyway.

As always, I can't believe another trip is over already but soon I'll have to continue planning our Disneyland trip this summer.

I'll be glad to answer any specific questions!

We can't wait to try Soarin':)..actually, truth be told - we just can't wait to get back to WDW!! LOL!!

Welcome home!:)

Sounds like you and Dan had a great time.
Welcome home! :flower:

Welcome back Julie! Sounds like a fabulous trip :) I know what you mean about the weather. I always tried to plan one of my trips for May because in the last couple of years May just hasn't felt very warm to me. A WDW trip is the perfect way to get a head start on summer *lol*

How was Janet and her DD? I miss seeing her on the boards :( How was the shopping? Did you get any good deals? :goodvibes

Welcome back Julie. It sounds like you and Dan had a good time.
P.S. We are looking into University for our DS right now; so far he has been accepted in Guelph , Windsor, Kings and Western so we are going to all the open houses.

Thanks everyone! We really did have fun!!

I'm certainly glad to see the warmer sun today...I really missed that warmth when we got home on Monday night to such coolness in the air!

Vicky, I did most of my shopping at Bath & Body Works at Galleria Mall on the way down plus Happiest Celebration Souvenirs and 18K Disney Italian Charms at WoD.

Janet, on the other hand, found lots of good deals at the outlet mall.....she had packed rather lightly! ;) Both she and her DD are fine and I hope she will come back after a good break from the boards.

Tony & Debbie, good luck with your DS and university! Dan had a great year at Western. He said he will really miss Perth but has rented a very nice house nearby with 4 friends from Perth. He just found out he got on the Dean's List with his final marks and was accepted to continue on in his program at the Honour's level. He's very happy!!

I wish they would bring Bath and Body Works to Canada ... along with Victoria's Secret. Of course it's always a good excuse for a trip to Buffalo :) Glad to hear that Janet and DD are doing well!

Julie, I think I saw you and your son at EPCOT. I believe he was wearing a shirt/tank top that says "Canada" at the front. :)

LOL, Dolphin_Girl008, yes that was probably us! You should have come over and said "Hi"! :)

We didn't spend too much time at EPCOT - the main reason was to ride Soarin' and also did SE, went through Living Seas hoping to see "Crush" but it was too busy, Ice Station Cool, did a Leave A Legacy tile and then Dan was starting to fade a bit so we headed over to Beaches & Cream for dinner before heading back to MK via the Monorail from EPCOT. We'd had an early start at CP for the character breakfast and I wanted him to see Wishes! ;)

Glad to hear you had a great time! When you arrived at Pop Century is there a place to store your carry on bags if your room isn't ready? Do you just return later and pick them back up at the same spot?
