Dan and I arrived home last night after a great long weekend at Disney! We met up with Scratch42 and her daughter to go shopping at Orlando Premium Outlet Mall and to have CP breakfast. Katypop also joined us at CP. It's always fun to meet up with a fellow DISer or two!
This was the first time I drove to Buffalo, myself and I'm happy to say that all went well. We breezed through the border both ways with no traffic problems despite the long weekend. We crossed at Fort Erie.
Since our flight left for Orlando early Friday morning, Dan and I drove down on Thursday afternoon and stopped in at Walden Galleria Mall before heading to the Quality Inn. We also stopped in at Borders and the Krispy Kreme next door, across from the mall.
This trip I discovered the food court at MCO on the return trip and there's a KK there so, of course, we stopped in!
DME worked perfectly for us and from checkin to pulling out on the bus was 20 minutes at most ~ 5 min to checkin, 10 min at most wait in the "Pop Century Line" and another 5 min before we left. We had carryon luggage. For the return trip, they substituted a Mears bus and we almost missed it, waiting for the DME bus, until I noticed the vouchers people were giving the driver looked strangely like the DME ones. Dan and I had been waiting inside our resort. POP was the first stop on the way in (All Stars was the other) and we made no other hotel pick-ups on the way back to the airport.
We flew SWA and while they are not a participating airline, they now have a special checkin desk down on the ground transportation level so we were able to avoid the huge line-up at the main checkin desk. I wasn't able to get my boarding passes online but we still managed to get "A" for the flight down and "B" on the way back because we were at the airports early.
The weather was gorgeous...it certainly was a change to come back home again. We only had a short shower on Saturday night but we were just going into Trail's End Buffet for dinner, so missed it, really.
Dan and I went to Typhoon Lagoon and MK and EPCOT, DTD, resort hopped and tried to take as many boats for transportation as possible. I find this so relaxing! We were busy at times but generally it was a much more laid back trip for me and actually, I really enjoyed it. We did get to ride Soarin' and really enjoyed the sensation of flying over California. What I saw of the Flower and Garden Show was pretty, especially the butterfly garden, but we were getting tired and didn't feel like a lot of walking, to see everything. I think it was starting to wind down anyway.
As always, I can't believe another trip is over already but soon I'll have to continue planning our
Disneyland trip this summer.
I'll be glad to answer any specific questions!
