Our flight doesn't leave until 7:00 p.m. Just did this with another cruise and we shopped all day. Don't want to do that again. Any suggestions on what to do after disembarkation until we have to go to the airport? We will have a rental car. Thanks!

How about NASA? It's not my thing, but some people like it. Maybe spend the day at a park? You could be there by 9 and stay 'til around 5....

I personally like to shop!:teeth:

Maybe a movie over at DTD and a round or two of mini-golf over at the place near the beach club? A stroll and a nice lunch at the Boardwalk?

Favorite Auntie - we've done the NASA thing before. It's neat to see once, but that was enough for me (though DH would probably love it). Shopping would be ok, but that's a long time. Sunday we got back to Orlando by 10 and didn't need to be to the airport until 5 or so. Anyhow, I bought everything I needed then;)

Mcnuss - that would solve a couple other problems! We like to do the mini golf thing and I wanted to see the scrapbook store at DTD and were planning that before the cruise, but then we could spend all of our time at Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival!!

We've been tossing around the idea of Universal or Islands of Adventure, but don't know if I want to spend that much for a limited day.

Thanks for the ideas!

Hi twhipple.

Any suggestions on what to do after disembarkation until we have to go to the airport?

If you'd like to experience something quite out of the ordinary, drive on over to The Flying Tigers Warbird Restoration Museum in Kissimmee. My son and I had a terrific time touring this "working" museum. It offers much history and the guides/mechanics/old soldiers are inspiring in their knowledge and enthusiasm...

Another idea similar to what BD suggested is the Fantasy of Flight museum, located about 30-40 minutes west of WDW, just off I-4. We spent almost an entire day there. You can get in most of the vintage planes, go for a ride in a bi-plane (starting Nov. 1), reserve a hot air balloon ride, and see a demo flight of their "Aircraft of the Day". When we were there, they flew a WWI bi-plane and taxied a P-51 Mustang between hangars. They have a small restaurant serving burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches...... the food was quite good.

You can check it out at www.fantasyofflight.com.

Spend some time in Celebration (192 and I-4). It's only 20 miles from the airport via 417. It is a neat, quaint little town with restaurants, walking trails, a fountain that the kids can run through in their swimsuits, a movie theater, and a farmers market on Sundays (with the world's best fresh squeezed lemonade). You can even rent a Segway! Since it is close to 192, there is lots you can do there, too, if there isn't enough in Celebration to keep you busy.

I have asked this question in the past, and I have been given ideas such as:

If you are tired, take a day rental at the mco hyatt, you can rest there until your flight time.

You may just want to spend your last day at downtown disney, plenty of last minute souvineer shopping and great resturants to choose from.

You can count on being back in the wdw area by 10am, so you can spend 6 hours comfortably revisiting your favorite theme park, using the time to see and do anything you may not have had time for.

Reschedule your flight for first thing the next morning and spend one more night at wdw and go to a park all day and spend all night downtown.

(can you tell I love wdw)

whatever you do enjoy yourself:D
