Hmmm....so one theoretically could carry their luggage from the carrousel to the bus to the resort??? Assuming that carrying the luggage would not be a major inconvenience.
Sure. It sort of defeats the advantage of DME (aside from the free transportation feature, but that's valid for "only" another year

) and of course many of us don't recommend doing it...
If you DO choose to pick up your own luggage, do NOT put the DME tags on it!!!!!!! These tags ensure your luggage is pulled behind the scenes and never makes it to the luggage carousel - you'll be standing there all day, futilely waiting.
Go to luggage carousel, wait for luggage, pull luggage, haul all over airport to get to DME counter, check in, get assigned to bus, go to bus line, approach bus, give luggage to driver to put underneath bus, board bus, get to resort, make driver get off bus to pull your luggage from underneath bus,
TIP DRIVER WELL haul luggage to Front Desk, check in, if room is ready haul luggage to room or have Bell services do it, if room is not ready, check luggage in at Bell Services, whenever luggage arrives at room
TIP BELL SERVICES PERSON WELL.
If you use DME as designed, get off plane, go to DME counter, get transported to Resort, check in, go off and do whatever you want - Disney takes care of all gratuities, and your luggage magically appears in your room within a few hours of landing.
Note that it is ALWAYS strongly suggested that airline passengers pack in their carry on bag all valuables, documents, medications - and whatever you might need for your first day/night at your destination. Remember, airlines DO misdirect luggage on occasion; preparing your carry on this way will ensure you'll have what you need both in that instance AND while you wait for your checked luggage.
Can you tell which side of the issue I'm on?
