Leaving from TF Green

I just read an article in USA Today about long security lines in TF Green Airport causing many to miss flights...has anyone used this airport lately and what was your experience? We have a 7:10pm flight on SW to Orlando. Many thnaks!

My family and I left TF Green airport on August 22 and there was about a 15 to 20 minute wait. We arrived at 6:30 am for our 7:10am flight and had plenty of time before the flight and were able to eat our breakfast while in the security line and were allowed to continue threw with it. That suprised and pleased us as we didn't believe they would let us do that. We had to wait for a smidge of time in the security line but it didn't stand still for long they kept you moving right along. Green is so much better than Logan.......

I haven't flown from TF Greene since last February but security lines were never any longer than any other airport. I would plan on arriving at least 90 minutes before your flight just to make sure.

I have a flight in Dec. out of Green at 7:45pm and plan on arriving around 6pm!!!

If you are flying Delta out of Green you must be checked in at the gate 30 minutes before your flight or they do not have to board you. My DIL works for Delta out of Green and she said it is very difficult to get passengers to check in and board on time and they can refuse to board any late arrivals. To be on the safe side arrive early.

We flew out of Green on Aug 13. Had a 0715 flight, arrived at 0530. Waited in the security line for approx 75 minutes. When we arrived at the gate the flight was boarding. I fly out of Logan a lot and I've never seen lines like the ones at Green. The line for security wrapped around the upper level twice then down the stairs for the baggage claim and wrapped around that at least once. Good luck and get there VERY early.

I checked with my brother who is one of the new Federal security personnel at TF Green and he told me that the wait is runing approx. 20 minutes during busy times. On Aug. 13, the security lines were out the door due to the fact that Monday, Aug. 12, was a Rhode Island holiday and this was not taken into account with personnel scheduling. There was double the amount of travel on Tuesday, the 13th. Most of the kinks have been corrected, and security has been running fairly smoothly. You should not have much of a wait.
