I need opinions, should I purchase plane tickets now, or hold out in hopes they will go down after the holidays? :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

watch the rates right now for may. the last couple of times I got great rates for may during the last weeks of november. for example last year around this time I got fares out of bmi for 146 taxes included on aa. keep watching.

What I've been doing is keeping track of specific flights for a couple of months (I'm also flying to WDW in May). Airfare took a drop in price around 11/7 (I was tracking US Airways flights). But people who had been waiting apparently booked their flights and the next week prices were sky high again (higher than previously). But I just checked and prices are now dropping again.

I would wait.....We are going the first week in June, and we are holding out until after the holidays to purchase our tickets. I have been tracking Southwest - but they only have rates out until March right now.

We are hoping to go end of May/first of June. I have been watching airfare and so far it hasn't changed. (Dallas to Orlando, non-stop on American.)

We have pretty specific times and days we need to fly. If you are flexible OR if you are already planning to fly on Tuesday or Wednesday you might want to wait. Flights on Tuesday and Wednesday always seem to end up being discounted closer to the time of departure.

I got some e-mails from Travelocity with lower rates, but they were ALL for travel before March 1. I am not one to gamble on airfare. As soon as we have our dates nailed down I will book airfare and be done with it. The absolute lowest fares I have seen are about $50 per ticket less than what the airline currently has listed. For me, it isn't worth gambling on availability to save $150 on 3 tickets. I would rather KNOW we have seats on our preferred flights and not have to fly into Orlando at 2 AM or travel mid-week.

Good luck! Airfare prices drive me up the wall!

Thanks, yeah I am a nervous nelly when it comes to stuff like this, I just downloaded DING, but I dont know if I could wait it out till a month before... :Pinkbounc
