Aren't those threads prohibited? Anyone have a copy of (okay, a link to) the DIS guidelines?
Rule #1
FOR SALE: For sale ads are strictly prohibited on any of the DISboards. Anyone posting such ads will have their post deleted. This same policy applies to links to your ebay/auction listings . "For sale" posts includes requests for donations (see below). In addition, "Vote for me" posts are not permitted on the DIS. This includes requests for support in an online contest, sweepstakes, lottery or other event designed to yield personal gain.
I believe there are 19 clique threads or exclusives on page 1 right now.
Wow - given the results so far, maybe someone should start a clique thread for DISers whose least favorite thread type is clique threads....![]()
Didn't they have something like that at one time? It was a NON-clique Clique.
I don't like threads that don't included PIRATES!!!
or RUM....
or fruity RUM drinks...
I dont get why people dislike them so much... The only one I ever 'belonged' to was the "Moms 2 Be"... I think it's a great place for (gasp) Moms 2 be to click on and share their thoughts and experiences. If you weren't pregnant, yeah, probably not the thread you'd want to click on.
And...the one ya'll are referring to, I think Fantasia started..and if you peeked into it, like I did...it was just a big ol' fluff thread for people to talk about their daily activities, but not needing to check back for those that were too busy in real life to keep up with all that was going on there...
Anyone is invited into a 'clique' thread....it just has to capture your interest, and if it doesn't.. it's not the 'cliquers' fault
Anyways
I voted for serious discussions.. None of the choices really bothered me, but since I 'had' to choose, I chose this one..only because they can be quite sad and they make me feel helpless. Also, people can get pretty heavy into them, not being nice about their 'opinions'...
Its not the clique threads themselves that bother me, its the innocent threads you post on and then when you go back later you realize that its someone from one of the clique threads starting a new thread. You have answered in a thoughtful manner and everyone who answers after you do is in on the joke and you feel really stupid.
Not that its ever happened to me or anything.....
The " Please Vote for My Kid" threads.
I don't like those either. I usually do go take a look, but if I think another kid is cuter, I'll vote for him.
what about "please vote for me" threads?
