Leappad cartrige dosen't work, what to do?

Hi,
Bought a Leappad (the basic book reader) for my dd. Bought her a couple of extra books/cartriges.

One doesn't work at all. When I insert it, it tells me it's not a leappad cartrige and reads the "canned" first book info.

I bought it at Kohls and we threw out the packaging. I think I still have the receipt. I don't think Kohls will take it back w/out the packaging.

Any idea's anyone? These books cost $16, and I hate to just throw it out.

(The book is the Disney Princess reading one.)

If Kohl's won't take it back contact the manufacturer.

they told me to clean it with alcohol and also clean the slot in the player. I forgot exactly how to do it, but if you call them they'll tell you.

Definitely call the LeapPad company, they are great! Our pen wasn't working correctly after about 10 months of use and I called and they sent us a new one, no problem.

Thanks so much for your ideas.

I tried the alchohol & it didn't work. I emailed Leapfrog & they have not returned my email (3 weeks ago).

So, the other day, I took it to my local Waldenbooks str. I told the lady & she exchanged it for the same story. Our new one works.
