I've been trying to get a lunch reservation for Le Cellier in September for a while now, but for the week I'm going - it's been fully booked. I check the Disney reservations page every other day. Today, I found one opening for one of the days we'll be there!! However, it's an opening for 4 people; not 2 people which is what I need. Is it ok to just book the 4 person reservation and use it for 2 when we get there? Or will they turn us away? I know it's probably not the RIGHT thing to do...but I don't think I'll be able to get any other reservations for the week we'll be going.

You will get multiple answers on this.

Can you do it? Yes.

Do you feel comfortable doing it? Only you can answer that.

Any adr that does NOT require a CC for prepay, if you show up with less people you are not turned away.
Showing up with less can happen at anytime. People get to tired to eat, sick...etc. So it happens.

Now knowing you are holding 2 seats that you won't be using....puts someone else in the same spot as you. (unable to find anything)

But then again when you get there you open up 2spots for a walk up....

Only you can really decide if you feel comfortable taking that ressie.

Good luck and have a good time!

If you want it, you better book when you see it. Chances are you may have lost out. We have 2 reservations for 4 people during our September trip. We may only have 2 people eating though, we plan to drop the kids off at the Disney children's activity center so we can have quiet time for dinner.

If she holds a table for 4 guests and only 2 show up, I am not sure a two person walk up would be seated at her table.

Of course not.

But it still opens up 2 spots. You never know if others have done the same...etc. Hostess/hosts move and manuver seating all the time.
What it does is open up the spots for 2 people to be let in if they have a table. It opens up spots in the fire code....;)

Exactly. Isn't Disney's definition of an ADR that you will get the next available table for your party after you check in? So even though you made a reservation for 4, they may seat you at a table for 2... which may mean that there's an "open" 4-top for a walk-up. Which would be pixie dust! Love that.

I think we found 2 more people to dine with us (we're going in a big group)...so maybe we'll be able to use the reservation for 4 after all! Thanks for the input!

I've found lots of times a table for 2 is not available but a table for 4 is. I book it & then call & tell them I just need a table for 2.
However,on our last trip that morning I looked online & found a table for 4 available at lunch for LeCellier that same day. I booked it & a couple of hours later we ate there. We told them when we arrived & there was no problem.
