I am so happy I was able to get a great dinner ressie for Le Cellier but my Dh keeps saying it's not a kid place. We didn't go our first trip, but everyone talks so much about it of course we wanted to check it out. So tonight I was just checking times on the website, and was able to get a great time in February. Will there be other kids there? My kids are very accustomed to restaurant eating. Is DH right? The DW with Kids book says that Le Cellier is at the low suitability for kids level. Tell me what you guys think?

If you think the kids can behave, then go. There will be kids there. It's a restaurant at Disney. That said, it is very tight quarters in there so if a kid is fussing, screaming, throwing things, or running around it will definitely have a negative impact on other guests.

I'm taking my 2yo twins and a 5yo there for lunch during our stay... the way I see it- it's Disney - people expect kids.

I think at their age you'll have no problem at all.

We are going there in March for lunch with our 6 and 4 year old. As long as my girls have access to a pen and some paper to write or draw, they are absolutely fine. They are extremely well behaved in restaurants so I have no qualms. If they were the type who couldn't sit still, would yell or run in a restaurant, I would think twice about it...but that's just me.

Visited LC in June with DD9. She'll tell you this was one of her favs. :) However she is very use to dining a better quality resturants, and has a more "adult" palatte than most 9 year olds. While she loves mac and cheese as much as (if not more than) the next kid, she ate the kids steak, then proceeded to "taste" DH's and my entree over and over. :rotfl: IMHO, if your darlings are use to resturants, I do not see where there would be any problems. BTW there were several children in the resturant, and I didn't get the "adult" only feeling in there, from either the CM's or the other patrons.
Make sure they try the chocolate "moose" for dessert. DD is still talking about that!

My 5, 8, and 10 year olds did just fine there a couple of weeks ago. In fact, DS10 told me tonight that it's one of the restaurants he wants to go to again. I know there were a couple of kids at the table next to ours...didn't notice if there were more in the rest of the restaurant, but probably.

Dinner is signature now, so expect a bit more of an upscale feeling (not much though, tables are still relatively close (though I never get the feeling of sitting on top of another party... even before it was signature dinner).

I was just there on Thursday night for dinner and there were plenty of kids around and saw both sides of the spectrum.

Two tables over was a larger group with 3-4 under 10 (and over 3-4 or so). Near the end of the meal, the kids got a bit wild and were up and about around the table. They didn't mess with other tables, but it was a bit distracting and they got in the way of the servers a few times.

Right next to me was a family of 3 with a little 1 or 1 1/2 year old (I'm not very good at judging children's ages, or adults for that matter). And while he was a bit fussy at times, it was never to the point of distraction. In fact, I really enjoyed watching him. His parents did take turns and take him around for walks a few times during the meal, which helped I'm sure. He was also super adorable, which may have skewed my perception a bit.

So, if your kids can behave for 60-90 minutes at the meal, or you're willing to take them out if they do go nuts, then go for it. They'll certainly not be the only kids there.

My son has come with us to Le Cellier everytime we went..and he just turned 11. It is fine and far from fine dining! They will be fine :)

We went the other night with our 4, 7, and 9 year olds and it was fine. Just be aware that the online menu is outdated. They actually only have 3 things for kids, meaty macaroni (which was gross but you can get it plain with just butter), steak, and fish. Since they changed the menu there was nothing there my 4 year old would eat. Also, they have changed the kids menu to ala carte if you are not on the dining plan. So drinks, apps, and desserts were all an additional charge (even though it says explicitly on the menu that drinks are included with kids meals, they actually are not. Made no sense to me & I complained so they took the drinks off of our bill).

It's in the middle of a theme park and is always loaded with kids. There is a kid's menu too, although it is pretty limited like most Disney kids menus. However, the restaurant is very small and the tables are practically on top of one another. Your kids are not really little kids but if you have the kind of kids who like to get up and wander around the table, you may want to pick a different place. You do say that your kids are good in restaurants.

Take the kids!!! There will be loads of kids there. And at 5 & 9 they will be fine...

Sorry i have to chime in here. I have been taking my DD since she was 2 and never had a problem with her in any restaurant. Last year i got my first ressie at LC I loved it DD loved it and DW Liked it. There will be kids there It is Disney but just becasue it is Disney doesnt give a pass to mis behaved kids in restaurants. I really dont like that excuse that well its Disney so its a free for all. I think it depends on the kid. I eat at signature restaurants for dinner almost every night with my DD(5) and never had an issue and yes there are plenty of kids in all those restaurants and ya know i never saw ones that were out of control. So again yes take your kids and enjoy your vacation you will love LC

As others have said, there are plenty of kids at LC. So dont worry, they wont be the only ones there.

Are you on the Dining plan? Dinner is 2 TS credits now (lunch is 1 TS credit).

I've taken my DD when she was 1yo and 2yo there. No issues, we kept her occupied with stuff while waiting for food.
I think a 5 and 9yo would be fine. As PP said, if they're throwing a tantrum you probably might want to reconsider since the place is so tight. But other than that... HAVE FUN!

I went last year with my kids (then 3 and 5) and it was fine. Of course, my kids enjoy coloring while waiting for food and love a good steak, so they were in heaven. :-)

I haven't been back since they upgraded to signature (we're going next month, though!) but from what I recall, it was cozy and decorated like a Canadian hunting lodge. There isn't room for a kiddo to roam around, so if you've got little ones who need to be entertained, there is a very nice area just outside where you can run around until your meal is ready. They sometimes even have little activities outside for the kids to do while waiting, too. :lovestruc

We've done several signature restaurants and were fine - my kids don't wander away from the table and we avoid going during times when they're beat (like naptime and late dinners) and when there are likely to be bigger crowds - we try to eat a late lunch or early dinner each day, using a snack credit to cover in between. Hope this helps!

Our kids were 4 and 7 the last time we went and we had a great time. There were tons of kids in the restaurant. I say go and have fun!! :thumbsup2
