We are 9 days away from our vacation and I have already booked Hollywood Brown Derby, but I went on disneyworld.com and saw an opening for Le Cellier. Help! I don't know which to choose!!

I haven't ate at the Brown Derby but I don't think I would pass up Le Cellier for anything! That's the first restaurant we place reservations at when we go to WDW and we schedule everything else around it. I don't think you'd be disappointed!! And if you're going to change I would do it fast before someone else snags it! BTW, we are going in 9 days as well!!! Have a wonderful trip! :yay:

I would say Le Cellier at lunch and save the 2nd credit for something else. That's just my family.
We really like Le Cellier, but wouldn't burn two credits on it. The only thing we liked at Brown Derby was the Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake, and we would just OOP that.

We haven't eaten at Le Cellier yet, because I have never been able to get ADRs. I was able to get an ADR for our up coming February trip, Yay! I have eaten at Hollywood Brown Derby 3 times. Others may have different experiences, but each time for us, the food was very good. The wait, however, was excruciating, even with ADRs. We had to wait at least 45 minutes to be seated even with our reservation and then the meal itself took almost 2 hours. We aren't planning on going back to HBD this trip.

I agree with shannonstar, I wouldn't use two credits on it unless you specifically want a dinner reservation instead of a lunch. I'm too stingy with my free dining plan credits to burn two on one meal :rotfl:

I have been to both restaurants and while they were both very good if I had to choose between them I would go with Le Cellier.

I too have been to both, although it's been awhile, I would definitely choose Le Cellier if it is available.

I tend to go to both on every trip. Based on my last trip if I had to choose just one, it would be the Brown Derby.

I vote Brown Derby, awesome steak I can get at home, but the Brown Derby Cobb salad? Mmmmmm. Also, I just adore the atmosphere of the Brown Derby, I would rather lose myself in Old Hollywood than the wine cellar look.

Very interesting... close race !

My 2 cents... I tried both for the first time May 2010, last visit...

I LOVE LOVE Le Cellier... Mushroom filet, subbed cream cheese potatoes, pretzel bread, cheese soup, YUMMY !~

HBD? VERY Disappointed... practically nothing about my meal or my DS meal that was good... we did F! dining pkg... so tried appys, entrees, and desserts. I really wanted to like HBD...

We are going back to both this May ... Got my Le Cellier ressie...

HBD Was the only place available for Imagineer lunch.... so booked that. The menu has changed a bit... and I'm hoping I like it this time...

I'll put in my vote for Le Cellier...Great steak, pretzel bread, and atmosphere...It was my second favorite restaturant of my past trip!

I'm going to have to say avoid both. Le Cellier was very disappointing earlier last year and just last month the Brown Derby was horrible with three filets being sent back twice for being undercooked (raw) and ice cold (never did eat them) while the other three in our group said their meals were just okay. I can't recommend any restaurants in the parks except in Epcot I've found Rose & Crown and Chefs de France still worth eating at.

LC is a good one to snag but I'd like to try the cobb salad @ BD too!! Get the LC then tryto change the BD reservation & go to both!:goodvibes

They're both good, but in general, the food at BD is much better. The Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake are not to be missed!

Le Cellier is not bad by any means, but it is WAY over-hyped.

If Le Cellier is lunch, I would go for it. I don't think I would pay 2 credits for dinner there. i would however pay 2 credits for Brown derby.

And our decision is . . . . . . we're going to Le Cellier!! Thanks for the advice! We are going for dinner and since we're on the Deluxe Dining Plan I don't feel bad about using 2ts. We have more than enough points to spare lol!! Now if I could just make this last 8 days go a little faster

If you're on the DxDP, I would try to squeeze in a lunch at Brown Derby sometime during your trip. We've eaten there three times, and (unlike some others) it's been fantastic every time. I think their filet (8oz) is the best steak in WDW*.

Enjoy!

* -- have not tried Shula's or Yachtsman's yet, but have eaten steaks at Flying Fish (2nd fave), Le Cellier, Cali Grill, Jiko, etc.

You made the right choice, ILoveDisney4Ever! We had good filets in December at both Brown Derby and LeCellier, but LeCellier reservations are so hard to get that you should snag one whenever you can. I strongly recommend the filet with mashed potatoes (instead of the risotto) and the pretzel bread. Yum! The bread basket typically has three types of bread, and many people prefer the pretzel. Most servers will bring only the pretzel bread or extra pretzel bread if you ask.

Enjoy your meal!

I'd vote Le Cellier, a Disney must for me. Have my first dinner booked - had lunch many times.
