We currently have an ADR for Le Cellier on 11/22 at 6:20. We were hesitant on booking this instead of Biergarten (haven't eaten at either). There will be 8 kids and 4 adults. What do you think? :confused3

I am jumping in for the first time with Le Cellier this next trip myself. I also made room at Beirgarten too though.

My impression is that the food will be better at Le Cellier, higher end if you will. Depends on if you want that or the family feel of the other.

Good luck, hard choice!

They are two entirely different types of restaurants. So, it depends on which themeing and food that your party wants. LeCellier is more of a steak house, while Biergarten is a buffet with an oompah band. I think the food is great at both, but the menus are worlds apart different.

Just my opinion but Le Cellier is one of the best WS restaurants and Biergarten is one of the worst.

Biergarten is more of a party atmosphere. There is entertainment. With a party of that size, I would probably go with Biergarten.

Don't know who peed in MICKEEP's schnitzel, but we love Biergarten. :) We will be doing both this December.

Le Cellier is upscale, Biergarten is themed like an outdoor "beer garden" from Germany during Octoberfest, so the inside looks like it is outside (similar to the way the Mexico pavillion looks like an outdoor festival but is inside). You are seated at large tables, just like you were in a German biergarten and the buffett has all sorts of vegetables, meats (chicken, sausages, etc) and desserts. The Oompah band performs regularly on the stage (check for times) and they are a lot of fun and can be quite funny. They invite people down to dance on the little dance floor, which the young kids really seem to enjoy.

If you can squeeze them both in, I'd suggest you do so. If you can only do one and are concerned about the kids being bored and possibly unruley at a "fancy" restaurant like Le Cellier, then perhaps the Biergarten would be a better choice this time.

But as far as food goes, you can't go wrong with either one. :thumbsup2

I would vote for Biergarten wth having that many kids in the group, depending on their ages. It's really fun and the food is great. And from what I've heard about Le Cellier you might have a little more room at the Biergarten.

Golf4food summed it up pretty well. But I'll post anyway, if only to see myself type.

Not knowing the ages or temperments of the children in your party, I'd say go with Biergarten. The show really is fun and its generally a more accepting environment for kids. Not that Le Cellier is not kid friendly, because it is, its just that Biergarten is more casual.

If you really want the steakhouse, and the kids are older and/or do well in sit-down restaurants, then Le Cellier will be fine as well. Its not the greatest steakhouse in the world (or WDW), but its solid.

I guess I'll be in the minority here, but I would definitely go with Le Cellier--MUCH better food. I have an ADR for Le Cellier in Sept and my mom is wanting to change it to Tempanyaki.

We ate at both last week. Le Cellier had tastier food but for a group your size, you are probably looking at 3 hours minimum for dinner.

In your shoes, I'd probably go to Biergarten.

I ate at Biergarten April 2005 and it was ok. Some of the food was really, really good and some really bad. I love German food (German grandmother made awesome meals) so I know a thing or two. It could have been an off day, but I don't plan on going back next trip.

I do plan on going to Le Cellier. I hope it's good, but I am a bot nervous about it.

For the size of your group, I would probably lean towards Biergarten.

We love the Biergarten! We tried it for the first time last year after a previous horrible experience......and we were stunned...it was fabulous! :thumbsup2 We just got back from WDW a few weeks ago and dined there again....it did not disappoint.
