Le Cellier Reservations

I wasn't able to get any reservations at Le Cellier the last time I was in WDW. This time, I planned ahead for our October trip and tried to get reservations on the first day they were available (what can I say, I'm procrastinating).

My question, though, is that even on the first day I could only get a lunch reservation, dinner was completely full! Am I missing something? How is this possible? Why is this restaurant so popular or do they block out times?

Yeah, it's that popular. It's also quite small (capacity is only about 150). Keep checking, people do cancel.

We lucked out and got 4:30 dinner reservations at LeCellier in June 2009. I got up early on the very first day I could make reservations and called as soon as the phone lines opened.

It was well worth it!! LeCellier was my fave meal our entire trip. I highly recommend the Filet Mignon with mushroom risotto...I could have licked the plate clean. My kid had the coffee rubbed Kansas City strip steak and it was also to die for!

We unfortunately couldn't get into the Hollywood Brown Derby our entire trip.
I would say keep calling & trying, people do cancel. In fact, we were at WDW and changed our dinner reservations from Tusker house to Mama Melrose since our plans changed and they were able to make a change. Glad we were persistent! Keep trying!

If you are making your reservations at 180 days, it is not the first day they are available. Remember, for people who already have a reservation booked at a Disney resort ADRs can be made for the entire length of their stay.

When I made reservations for our late August trip nothing was available for day 180 and 181. I had no problem as I was booking Le Cellier for the last day of our trip.

Exactly! People staying on-site can book for 180 +10. Meaning on their 180th day they can book for the length of their stay (unless of course they are staying for more than 10 days!). Therefore people were booking it before the 180 day mark. As B-ride explained the way to overcome this is (if you are staying on-site) to look for the reservations in the hard to get places towards the END of your stay.

Le Cellier is one of the hardest places to get a ressie for..even at 180 days out.It is very popular, and its capacity is small

Try towards the end of the trip for the harder to get ADR's.

Remember alot of the UK visitors are on site for 14 days so do fully utilise the ability to book + 10.

UK free dining at select resorts is running August to Dec 2010. I suspect this is tempting more brits (like us) to stay onsite.

I have only eaten here once, but it is my favorite! I'm not sure if they do this through out the day or just at their first seating of the day, but they sing the Canadian National anthem! As a hockey lover this brought a little tear to my eye!

Excellent advice, I didn't realize this. When we went last year, the ADR's could only be booked out 90 days +10. We got LeCellier for our 1st day. Next time (June 2011) I will def try the +10 for the harder to get ADR's. Cool!!

Yes, this is what we had to do. I got up at the crack of dawn on our 180th day out to make those ressies for le cellier (went there last year and I just HAVE to get back this year for my soup!!) and I couldn't get the ressies for the 2nd night of our trip, I had to get it the last night of our trip.

I don't really get the love affair with Le Cellier. I've had really great meals there and I've had really mediocre meals there. I have never been that impressed with the service. I don't really remember it being that popular until the dining plan came into play. People loved getting a big steak for 1 credit -especially during free dining.

There are several places on property that have comparable steaks, IMHO.

I'm with you. I don't understand the mass appeal of Le Cellier, either. It's just a steakhouse! Probably not even the best one on Disney property. I think you are correct in citing the dining plan as the catalyst for this restaurant's surge in popularity. If it became a two-credit option, I suspect it would lose its charm.

There are too many interesting restaurants at Disney World for me to choose a place I can essentially find in my hometown.

we had ressies at LaC in August 2008. We even got to the restaurant and checked in!!
this was during the wonderful Tropical Storm of that August..
Shortly after we checked in the restaurant was struck by lightning and the grills shut down. The problem cascaded to the entire kitchen..We never set foot in the door...
I have an ADR again for this year (our next trip) in August..I don't mind if it rains but I do hope lightning doesn't strike twice <grin>

Back in the day this was our old stand by. When everyone else was going to Mexico and Italy, we easly popped in and always got seated.

NOT since DPP-

we liked it there, but we don't go any more. we figured let everyone else go crazy to get in.

I think it is simply the most over rated restaurant on all of Disney property.It is ok, but I can get a better steak locally at home

I called at 8a.m. the day of our 180 day window and the best I could get was 4:15! I'm really thankful for snack credits from DDP!

we really like it and we are going twice next week. We are DVC and member services booked for us. I think that the concierges make dummy reservations there so they have them for concierge guests. I know we got a last minute ADR there once when we stayed concierge level at the BC.

I remember going there when it was cafeteria style. Liked it back then too!
