Le Cellier new menu? OFFICIAL New Menu Discussion

Is the salmon "Canadian raised" too ? I'd sure like to know what makes it so special. $5 raise on the price of the filet - okay, no big deal.
$20 difference on the salmon dish (was $23.99, is now $44) - nope.

Question: have they made changes to the inside of the restaurant? Are the tables still as close as they were before?

I was just wondering this, too. I thought we had heard that they would reduce the number of tables so that it would feel more "signature" and less "pack-them-in." And, will they change the number of seats between lunch and dinner? If so, that could contribute to the higher prices at dinner for similar items, like the soup.

Here is the skinny on what is going to happen. All that havent been there are gonna go to try it. All that have been will go at least 1 more time to see if it is really worth it. All in all by the time we aget through all that ill be on Social Security taking my grandkids. Oh well i have ADR for May and i think ill keep it.

I've seen 2 versions of the new menu - one has it priced at $44, and the other at $34...either way a big increase even if it is a different preparation.

$34 I could deal with, it would be more in line with the other fish options at signature restaurants ie Cali Grill, Narcoosee's, Flying Fish...
But $44 no way, no how, not gonna happen. I simply don't want to pay $100 for 2 adults to have one entree and a drink each, not including tax/tip, and sitting in a crowded cave.

There was plenty available for lunch in August this morning, however, I booked a 2:50pm. on an EMH night. Figured I should pay less by cutting it as close to 3pm. as possible. Guess I'll grab a little snack later that night...

Going to be a tough decision the more I think about it really. I don't know which ADR to cancel...the practical side of me is saying do Lunch but the curious side of me says go with the dinner so I can post back here for all you guys debating LOL . I'm not really sure what we'd end up doing with the leftover DxDP credit as we are totally scheduled and ready to roll with things here. I've never been (couldn't get in last time) and do for sure want to try LC. Personally I think we are going to keep our early Lunch and switch Akershus to Dinner because the Lunch menu seems to appeal to me more.

$44 is crazy for salmon!

I am disappointed that they decided to remove the bone in strip steak. It's my favorite cut. I can't say that I've been to a steak house that only has 3 steaks on the menu....and I've been to the best Chicago has to offer. I'm going to check out the Yachtsman's menu now.

And no Prime Rib! SOB!

It's the KING of meat (it's not a steak).

I'll have to settle for Ribeye. :)

The menu didn't impress me before, nor does it impress me now. Don't think I'll ever make a trip to LC. It definitely doesn't look like a 2TS menu to me.

If I want a good steak I'll get my $30 8oz filet at Eddie Merlot's. What a great steak!

I haven't read all the post on this thread but I'll chime in with my opinion. I read on another website that the new price for the filet will be $41 for dinner. Compared to the California Grill's filet at $44 and the Yachtman's Steakhouse filet at $40. I don't see me going back to Le Cellier for dinner. Now I might eat there again for lunch but I would rather eat at California Grill or Yachtman's for just about the same price or cheaper.

I'm so excited for the new menu! There's so many things I want to try:

-Black and Blue Beef Steak Tartar with a Hot Spring Egg and Pommes Gaufrette
-"Le Cellier" Lobster Chopped Salad with mixed field greens, haricot verts, avocado, tomatoes and "Lake Meadows" egg
-Roasted Duck Breast and Leg Confit with Cheddar-Bread Pudding, Swiss Chard, and House-made Pepper Jelly
-Seared Gooseberry Cod with Braised Oxtail Ravioli, Shiitake Mushroom, Bok Choy and fragrant Oxtail Consomme
-Truffle Crushed Potatoes: Yukon Gold Potatoes, Truffle Oil, and European Butter
-Le Cellier Mont Blanc Semifreddo: Semi-frozen White Wine Sabayon with Chilled Fruit Soup

Is it sad that I'm not going til May and they JUST came out with the new menu, and I already think I know what I'm having for dinner? Roasted Duck Breast all the way baby! :teeth:

Nope! I love looking at the menus before I travel anywhere and figuring out what I would order. It's not like we're locked into a dish since we can always change our minds, but it's fun to imagine.

And ever since Disney World added menus to its official website (as opposed to relying on places like Allears for menus), I'm sure that way more people are doing the same thing. Honestly I never make a dining reservation anymore (anywhere, not just at WDW) without looking at the menu. It makes a huge difference knowing that at least one dish looks good to me.

I was excited to see the new menu- hoping they would bring back the Beef Barley soup.... Oh well!

I wonder if the new chef will mean that the food will be less salty????the 2 times I have tried LC- the food was "seawater" salty and inedible to me

I go to WDW several times a year. I've always loved Le Cellier, have always defended it here on the DIS, and have been lucky enough to get an ADR there every trip. The food has always been a little salty, but our dinner there this past Oct was sooo salty we couldn't even eat it. The risotto tasted like pure salt. I gave it another try when I was there in Dec. That trip I was on the DxDDP and knowing Le Cellier was going up soon to two credits, I was excited to nab two ADRs for that week (lunch and dinner). Lunch was so salty that again I couldn't eat it. On the way out, I stopped at the desk and canceled my dinner ADR for two nights later. When asked why, I very politely explained that the meal I just had was too salty, as was the one we had when we dined there in Oct and asked what was going on with the chefs and their salt shakers. The lady behind the desk just sighed and said they had had alot of complaints about the food being too salty lately and she didn't know why the chefs weren't listening.:confused3 For the first time in years we are not eating at Le Cellier during our upcoming May trip. Between it going up to 2 credits and the saltiness of the food, we didn't even try to get an ADR, nor am I going to for my upcoming Sept trip, unless I hear the quality of the food is greatly improved.

Anyone have experience with late lunch ADRs? I was wondering if You are seated well after your ADR time which as we all know is not an actual reservation time and the restaurant in this case Le Cellier is now serving dinner can you still order lunch or do you have to order from the dinner menu?

Ok so I wonder which menu is right, I've seen 2 dinner menu's now one has salmon at $34 one has it at $44 hmm...

Anybody actually eaten at Le Cellier and know for sure? Also why the heck do the have the chocolate "moose" on the lunch menu but not on the dinner menu? I wanted to try that, quite disappointing.

Never could get a reservation before and we're trying it for the first time Saturday night. Wish we could of tried the old menu with the new menu prices, this might be a one and done experience. Going to probably be a $130 check easily

Be waiting a long time for this hope it's at least worth it
