Le Cellier new menu? OFFICIAL New Menu Discussion

The great thing about these boards is that months ago I knew that LC was going to go to a signature restaurant and I had already made the decision that I would book a lunch.. I think that this place will now have more availability for those who want to try it as it is now a signature and I can bet that lunches will be very hard to come by..
However, I am not complaining.. I have enjoyed LC every time I have eaten there.. It is one of my favorite places and as long at the filet is on the lunch menu, you won't hear a peep from me,..

100% Agree!!!

Anyone have experience with late lunch ADRs? I was wondering if You are seated well after your ADR time which as we all know is not an actual reservation time and the restaurant in this case Le Cellier is now serving dinner can you still order lunch or do you have to order from the dinner menu?

I thought of this as well, as we have a 2:45 ADR for our May trip. I am planning to use just 1 TS credit for our meal, not 2 like dinner requires. And seeing how difficult it is to get a lunchtime ADR at LC nowadays, I'm sure we'll have to wait past our ADR time like we normally do. Hopefully we'll be seated before the stated 4 p.m. dinner time, and should be fine.

Don't believe this new menu will pose much of a challange to Shula's or Yachtsman. Not many steak offerings for a Signature steakhouse...

I agree. But I also think it doesn't compete well with most of the other signatures (I didn't say all). Most of them offer great views and/or original and unique menu's. Perhaps my opinion is negative since I didn't have a high opinion of Le'Cellier before. But to me, other than a few items is the same menu as before. I guess what makes it unique is LC is now calling their meats "Canadian." I love Canada, but I don't think there is much of a difference from a Canadian cow from an American one; At least not big enought to pay $5- $10 more or give up 2ts credits instead of 1ts. JMHO

I did think of this as I was clicking on 2:50 instead of 2:10. However, my ressie DOES say lunch, so I will be expecting to see a lunch menu regardless of what time we are actually seated. Dinner doesn't start until 4, so I also doubt this will be an issue. If we are told we must order from the dinner menu then I will politely get up and head over to Morocco for some delicious CS at TC. :)

I will be eating lunch there on Thursday, I will make sure to report back. I think it looks like a C+VAST improvement from what was there before.

I am one of those from the camp of "what is all the fuss about this mediocre restaurant?"

can't wait to try it!

:rotfl2: I doubt they get their beef from Canada!

The new prices are steep and the offerings too few! Time to move on...... If I want Prime Rib I'll just go over to the Turf Club or to the Yachtsmen Steakhouse!

I just decided this morning to book a Le Cellier ADR, and then found this thread. I'm glad to see links for the new menus! I had not realized the menus were changing and had already checked out allears' menus.

From their old menu using the DDP.. does anyone know if people were allowed to choose one of these as their drink? They sound good. Wonder if they will be on the new menu.

Red Maple - Raspberry smoothie with a splash of Sprite $4.29
Niagara Refresher - Mango smoothie with a splash of Cranberry $4.29

Also, has anyone had one of their dessert cocktails? Man, I hope these remain on the new menu! I cannot decide WHICH drink!!

Desert Cocktails
Chocolate Vanilla martini - A decadent treat of Godiva Dark Liqueur, Amarula Cream, and Vodka served in a Chocolate-rimmed glass $9.25

Berries & Cream "Tini" - A creamy concoction of Stoli Razberi Vodka, Chambord, and Amarula Cream served in a Chocolate-rimmed glass and finished with fresh Raspberry $9.25

Subbing to this thread to get more updates!

Actually, we think Epcot WS has the best, dinner atmosphere of anywhere at WDW. (Naturally, that's only personal opinion.) We love the vibe of everyone heading to dinner in the different countries. Our problem with eating dinner in the WS is the food quality & the cramped, loud seating. If LC's food improves markedly & they remove some tables to make it a little quieter, we will definitely return. I do wish they'd offer some of the lunch appetizers at dinner. The dinner appetizers don't appeal to me at all.

My mom got the Red Maple for her drink on the DDP at dinner last May at Le Cellier.

We were going to book dinner again this time around...but I think we'll be going back for lunch in Sept. I'm making my ADRs next week. My friend and I laughed that the soup went up to 9 dollars for dinner!

Before the days of the DDP, we used to save money on our dining budget by taking the last possible lunchtime reservation. In most cases, that time was usually quieter and we would be seated almost immediately. I can't recall a case where lunch ended and dinner began causing us problems.

Thank you.

The beef was not American..it was from Australia actually...it will now be from Canada.:thumbsup2

You can chuckle if you wish, but Le'Cellier on their new menu boast of the cuts being "Canadian" Beef. The Mushroom Filet is being billed as Canadian AAA; and the New York Strip is being billed as Canadian Prime. So with that, I don't doubt it is from Canada. ;)

I don't disagree with you at all about Epcot and having some great restaurants with an excellent atmosphere; some of our favorites are in the WS. However, Le'Cellier in the past has been dark, loud, and very cramped with no view of the outside world or has an inviting decor (just opinion) Perhaps with some tables removed it will be better, but it will still be dark, have a cellar atmosphere, and no view of the spectacular WS at Epcot.

And I will agree, if the food quality is markedly improved, it may be worth it, but looking at the menu it looks like they just painted an old barn instead of building a new one.
:goodvibes

I was not aware of that. Shipping meat all the way from Australia instead of America or Canada may explain why I just didn't feel it was all that great. There is no way meat coming that far away could be as fresh as coming from America or Canada IMHO. :confused3

Eh, I don't think that's necessarily true. Look at New Zealand Rack of Lamb - it still tastes great once it gets here, it depends more on how the animal is raised and handled IMO. Similarly, there's places in the US that probably produce beef of amazing quality, and other places that are more about bulk.

I think the reason the Australia beef tastes different is that it is grass fed which gives the meat a different taste than our corn fed beef. I personally prefer corn fed because it is what I am use to grass fed tastes gamey to me.

I certainly hope this thread does not turn into a thread of debate. With that said, I did not say the meat was not of good quality. I questioned if it could be as fresh as meats from the US or Canada. However, I agree with you how the animal is raised and handled is of great importance regardless of it's origin.

I spoke with someone on the phone today from Epcot special requests dining or something like that. She confirmed with Lecellier that the fillet is defintely staying on the lunch menu:banana::banana: BUT sadly the cream cheese mashed potatoes are NOT:confused3 I don't know why they would do that since they were sooo popular. Maybe the new poatoe side dish will be just as good.
