I finally got a reservation for Le Cellier on my upcoming Disney trip. I booked a table for lunch as I thought it would be a nice way to take a break on my Epcot day. I've looked at the menu and thought I would try the filet. I'm looking forward to it. Still I have two questions. To the disboarders who have had lunch there, how did you like eating there? Should I stay with the filet or order something else? Thanks in advance.

I'd like to hear about the Lunch as well. We r trying to get in. everyone raves about the cheese soup. That's all I know so far.

I've had the cheese soup....it was meh. Nothing special. i've had better at my local subway shop to be honest. I was expecting much more as so many others have raved about it endlessly. As for the steak, i think the filet is a great choice cause whoever has it, says it was amazing. My striploin however was NOT amazing. It was fatty and tasteless. Huge disapointment. Because of this, i will not return. I really dont understand the hype of this place? :confused3

I had the filet for lunch and I loved it. Our server was fantastic. We had the cheese soup too, and it was good. It wasn't amazing or anything, but based on reputation, I think I had really high expectations.

We go for lunch frequently. Cheese soup is a must. I have gotten the fillet and the burger recently. Both are very good! I always sub the side for the mashed potatoes. They are the best!

OMG I couldnt agree with you more! People raved about their soup like it fell from heaven!! I honestly dont care much for it, and i love creamy soups. I dont get it?? Lol. I think I was disapointed cause there was sooooooo much hype with this restaurant. Ah well, I tried!

We went there for dinner on our last trip and I left unimpressed, however we are booked for lunch there in a few weeks. About the soup, I thought it was good, but not fantastic, and I also had a fatty and tasteless strip steak. I will be going with the filet this time.

If you can't get in for some reason, give Kona Cafe a try. It was better in my opinion. :thumbsup2

I agree with previous posters, it's good but not worth the hype. The soup is amazing, yes! The pretzel bread was too salty IMO. The filet was delicious as well. I'm glad I got to go, but won't put much effort into getting an ADR like I did to get it the last time.

My advice: don't order based on what other people think or recommend. That seems to be the critical mistake that people make when they go, which then results in disappointment when something doesn't "live up to the hype."

If another appetizer sounds better than the cheese soup, try the other appetizer. Personally I love the chipotle chicken sausage and sweet polenta; I think it's much more interesting and flavorful than the cheese soup.

On the entree side however, the filet would probably be a good choice. The burger also sounds very interesting, but I've never tried it. I would not order the prime rib sandwich again. My server recommended it, but it was like a greasy, heavy cheesesteak - not my style of food, and I barely touched it. If you pick food that sounds appealing to you, I would expect a good meal.

I have found the lunch to be better than dinner at LeCellier. I would recommend the burger or the steak salad for lunch.

We've had the filet with mushroom risotto many times and its always been excellent. I highly recommend it. I had the burger last time and it was also delicious. The appetizers we've enjoyed are the spicy chicken and chipotle sausage, the cheddar cheese soup and the duck meatballs. The only disappointment was the prime rib sandwich which was flavorless.

OP, thanks for asking this question. I was wondering too.

How flexible are they with substitutions on the regular dining plan for lunch? I'm thinking the gnocchi and getting grilled chicken instead of eggplant. Will they do that?

I've had the filet and it was "meh". I'm with you -- I don't get the hype.

The fillet is GREAT!!! I found the rissoto to be a little salty. I getbthe cream cheese mashed potatoes instead.

if you enjoy mushrooms then go with the filet. Ofcourse you can order it without the mushroom sauce but I wouldnt recommend this. If you do not like mushrooms the go with the new york strip. thats my favorite. LeCellier is funny when it comes to reviews and opinions. #1 alot of people did not like Disney upgrading dinner to 2 TS credits #2 they didnt really change the menu enough to justify this. I personally love this place. When we first started going to LeCellier it was from a recommendation that a friend of mine gave us. This was 2006 and our first year we ever did the free DDP. We thought it was a steal of a price that it was only 1TS. We have gone back 2 other times and have always had good food and service. So it remained our favorite NON signature dining place. So when they upgraded the cost to 2 credits I wasnt too surprised or upset because I thought it was a steal at 1 credit. But I do agree that for 2 credits there are better choices around the world. BUT since it is on the wire as far as its worth, at least Disney left lunch at 1 credit. So I was happy about that and planned a lunch for our October trip. So sorry about the long post, but I would definetly do LeCell for lunch. Great choice and great value 1TS and I suggest the NY Strip.

I love the sausage and polenta app, and the mac and cheese side. That's what I usually get for a meal. I don't like the soup much because I can taste the beer in it, and I don't like beer.

My family does enjoy Le Cellier, and always does lunch. We all order the filet and have been happy every time. My DD loves the pretzel bread also. Hope you have a great meal!:)

Thanks everybody for the replies. Filet it is then.
