Hi All

We (2 adults 2 kiddies) are staying in Orlando for 4 days in May 2014, and we are trying to decide which hotel is best for us...

We are currently looking at LBV Resort and Holiday Inn LBV/DTD.

We WON'T be driving, so being close to amenities should as dining etc is important. Likewise, we will be depending on hotel shuttles to travel to Magic Kingdom, so this is also a big factor.

So I am hoping some of you might have experience of both hotels, and might be able to advise which one would suit our needs best... Or maybe any other recommendations you might have?

Thanks in advance!

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn on Hotel Plaza Blvd (near Downtown Disney) several times and have always been happy with our experience. It is in a very walkable location. 5 minutes in one direction straight up the street is crossroads plaza which has lots of great dining options like Sweet Tomatoes, Chevys, TGIF, McDonalds and many more. There is also Pirate's Cove adventure gold which we really enjoy. About 2 minutes further are several more options including Olive Garden, Dennys and IHOP.
5 minutes in the other direction from your hotel is Downtown Disney with all their restaurants, shops and entertainment as well as the Disney transit depo with buses going to all the Disney resorts which you can use for free.

The shuttles from Holiday inn DTD to the parks came every half hour as scheduled. There was always room and the drivers were nice.

The pool at this hotel is nice and warm which I like. The hot tub is not great but not awful, just over in a corner that feels like a service area.

The beds here are great too. They offer a Downtown Disney View for a higher rate but I don't think it's worth it. I did it once and while you face DTD in one direction you face the highway if you face the other, it's not worth the extra money.

I have compared reviews on tripadvisor and this hotel comes out above the LBV resort consistently.

I definitely recommend Holiday Inn DTD. Please feel free to ask if you have any specific questions.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to reply to me :thumbsup2

You have answered every question I had, and been such a help.

It is very much looking like our minds are made up now.... Holiday Inn it is!

Thanks again!
