Uh oh, DH is going to flip out when he learns what I've found. As I've mentioned before, I am an ok scrapper with limited time (like all of us!) and I am not very creative, nor am I very, um, coordinated, so cutting out little teensy pieces of paper never goes quite as I hope. My LSS sells these great kits that help you put together pages in a jiffy. The problem is that after 3 years, there are not that many left that I want to buy, and I have been left to my own, on-creative devices.

Anyway, I never knew that these were common until I was cruising eBay tonight and came across the term "Paper Piecing" which I had never heard before. Oh my, wonder of wonders, it's lay-out heaven. Some of them look beautiful, and some are way pricey, but I know how much labor goes into them... Anyway, I bid on several - a recital lay-out, a school lay-out and a best friends layout. We'll see what happensl, but this could be my salvation.

If you have not looked at these, I encourage you to. In particular, look at the Cinderella page by shirlley.

OH MY mcnuss you are in trouble! That is just so addicting. Especially when you win the bid, get the paper piecing in the mail and are able to do a layout in no time and have it look beautiful! Have fun!

shirlley, does do some beautiful work!

I know what you mean:D

It's so easy, and I almost feel like I'm cheating;)

But I'm short on time as well. I have found several gorgeous paper piecings on ebay. Scrapjacks is another very talented artist. I purchased one from her called "Desert Splendor". It's pretty enough to frame! It made and stunning LO of a Grand Canyon trip.

I always do a Disney search...some really cute stuff comes up.

I agree... you're in trouble!! There is some real talent out there. I've bought quite a few PPs from ebay... and still have yet to use them all!! :o But sometimes it's impossible to not buy!! LOL!!

Another guilty e-Bayer HERE. I love PP but I also don't have the time to spend on making them.

did you see pieces offered by 'katieandpaul'? Katie's stuff is great!

She has an patriotic themed set on there now that is just gorgeous and, I believe, she will also make 'custom kits'.

I love her stuff.

You guys are making me feel so much better. Perhaps we need an ebay/paper piecing 12 step program?? :D

There are 5 hours left on the auctions I bid on, and I have been obessively checking my bids all morning -- and it's only 9:30!

Thanks for the tip on scrapjack, I'll look her up.

There's a Disney Cruise title page that I think I have to go put a bid on now, since that's the next major project to work on.

I AM IN SO MUCH TROUBLE!!!!

I saw that Disney Cruise one... was thinking of bidding but then thought maybe I could make it myself cuz the title looks a little big... riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight... Like I'll ever make my own stuff again!! ;)

Oh... and while looking just now at some of the Disney auctions... some people will use stickers in the PPs (instead of actually PPing them)... so be careful!! When I see those I always think... "hello? I can put some stickers down and make that myself." LOL!!

I noticed that too! All the ones I've bid on have shakers and embellishments that I would never even attempt! There are a lot of scrappers here on the DIS who could make good money selling on eBay. Someone like timon, who has all the tools and such a great eye & flair, if she made 2 of everything, could definitely sell well.

The paper piecing category on Ebay is awesome! I'm guilty of being both a buyer and seller! I usually sell 4-5 paper piecings a week on Ebay (although I've taken the summer off!! I should be starting again soon once school starts) I've made some great extra money on there, as well as met a lot of really nice scrapbookers too! Grover from this board is also a paper piecing seller but I think she sells on Ebay Canada. Look for me in the fall, Ebay name : Yummy72

Be glad to know your not alone in your addiction :D

I had no idea there was such a market for PP on ebay. Do you guys just look for layouts or do you look for pp characters (Etc) to add to your pages? I love PP, and I would be very interested if there is a market out there to add my own stuff. Is there a problem because the PP are copyrighted characters, or does anyone really care? This is very exciting for me! Guess I should look into it more! Thanks for the info!

Kristin

I don't know if there is a copyright problem. I guess technically there might be, they always say as long as it's for your own personal use...but these are sold on ebay. I've never heard of anyone having a problem:)

I just know it's very nice that people with a whole lot more talent than me make and sell these things:D
