I agree 100%.

I also agree that people need to think about what they say on the boards. People complain left and right about rude people at the parks, but then come on the boards and call people idiots and so forth. Take a look at what your saying before you post, and if you could not say it to someones face then leave it be.

Just my 2 cents

Excellent point and something we should all work on :thumbsup2

I shall sing so everyone forgets about wat they were talking about...
BE our guest! be our guest. put our service to the test. tie your napkin 'round your neck. cherie and we provide the rest..........xD

:rotfl: Thanks Luis for the laugh!

I read some of this thread before I was able to listen to the podcast. I listened, I thought about it and now, I am going to "beat that old horse" just a little bit more.

I listen to the podcast here for the entertainment value and the little bits of info that I can't get elsewhere. I look forward to hearing the opinions. I do admit that since Bob's passing, I listen less often because it's just not the same and seems to be lacking that little something special that Bob always brought to the table.

I don't appreciate the name calling part of Pete's rant on Meg Crofton. While I certainly do see room for improvement in the way that things are being done, at WDW and from time to time, even here on the DIS, I would NEVER resort to public name calling. For members of the podcast, I see it as being almost a moral imperative for the members of the podcast to avoid such behavior if they are to remain a credible source of information.

My maternal grandmother was a "cleaning woman". She was one of 15 children. She placed in a Masonic orphanage after her father was killed in the line of duty as a US Marshal. Her siblings were scattered among relatives all over the country due to her mother's inability to care for them all. She was unable to attend school beyond the 4th grade during the depression era and had her first of three children at the age of 14 years of age after marrying my grandfather who was much older than she was. After the birth of her last child, my mother, about twenty-five years later, my grandfather was murdered. She moved to FL and she worked her way up to the head of housekeeping at the Sheraton hotel over near Cypress Gardens during the majority of my youth. She did pretty well for herself. She even managed to put herself through college and got a degree in business before she passed away at 80 years of age.

Yes, I know that when most women take on the custodial professions, it means that they have a lack of education. It doesn't mean that these women remain that way forever. It also doesn't mean that "cleaning women" should be viewed as second class citizens either. At least these women are doing useful work and not sitting at home living off of welfare.

I didn't appreciate Pete's tone. I didn't appreciate the name calling. Do I respect his right to his opinion? Of course I do. I love a good Pete rant, but this one was just a little less well received because of the name calling. I am actually a bit disappointed in Pete, I know that he can do better.

First of all, thats really an incredeble story.

But when i re listened to the show last night i realised, hes not specificaly attacking Cleaning Ladies or anyone for that matter.

It is my understanding that cleaning is an entry level job at disney. as is janitor, and fast food etc. Could it be that he using cleaning lady the entry level position of Disney's lader, to say what her experience is?

:sad2:

I think Pete's rants about Meg Crofton are funny. Mostly because I don't think she's doing all that hot a job. I had very high hopes for her, liking girls and the name "Meg" specifically :) ...but have been less than overwhelmed with joy with her performance, that's for sure.

Meg's a big girl. She can take a few slams from Pete. If she can't, she REALLY doesn't deserve to have her job.

I really don't think it is the big deal everyone has made it out to be.
I have not expressed my opinion and have absolutely no intention or need to do so.
A man for all seasons.

While I appreciate the fact that you are bored with this topic, it seems completely normal to me that people may want to continue talking about it. There are clearly strong feelings about it.

Can you imagine the hard feelings that people would have on these boards if someone posted a dead horse every time the topic of cake and pie came up? When I get sick of long threads, I just stop reading them.

I do not mean this to incite anger. I simply decided to point out something you may not have thought about. It is my hope that you will take it in that spirit.

Are you nuts?! I'd be risking life and limb!! :lmao::lmao: I couldn't care less about this topic. Post away if that's what makes you happy. It makes me happy to post this awesome smiley of a dead horse!

:goodvibes So......I will continue to do so! Thanks for your input though. :thumbsup2

Ok I am afraid of Paul and his stick, but I will post this one thing:

At first I was a little upset with the comments made by Pete, I thought it was being a bit derogatory about people who are just earning their way, but then I looked back at his previous comments. He has mentioned before that he used to wait tables, and that tipping is crutial to him. So he is probably just implying her bad decision making from being in HR rather than having 'in the park' experience.

In some ways I wish he could change the words, but it's Pete being Pete, he doesn't pander to anyone, and he does have a point in a few of the comments. I don't think it's nice to call anyone names, but hey I really can't comment. I know I've said mean things with less justification. I hope this time good will come of it!

I thought this thread has for the most part been an intelligent respectful discussion.

I am not sure why everyone was so quick to say it was a dead horse. If you think its a dead topic don't read it anymore. But everytime you come back and post a dead horse gif or graphic it just bumps the thread up to the top of the page and breathes life right back into it:thumbsup2

I don't see where it's a dead horse either since it revolves around two things, Pete's recent name calling of Meg Crofton and whether or not she's doing a good job. The discussion has been civil except for a few.

I know this, we'll learn alot more at the end of this month when Disney posts its earnings.

We enjoy talking about dead horses......and cake and pie......
