Our lawn looks like crud this year!! We have lots of bare, dirt spots all over it. I am thinking of getting a lawn service to come in and deal with it. Any recommendations, the good, bad, and ugly.

If I understand what you're looking for, here's one vote against using Trugreen. They're the most obnoxious company I've ever had to deal with. Constant calling & upselling, using scare tactics left & right, etc. I could never recommend using them to anyone.

We use a local landscaper versus a franchise and are very happy with the service. It costs us about $350/year for all treatments.

A local business that has been around for years will know the area, climate, and soil conditions.
