Laurs, Andy and bump do LA and Vegas, baby Day 14

Bump 14 weeks
Thursday 3 April 2008
I got up at 8.10 am, went and fetched the paper from behind the door (free paper is included in the resort fee) and we read in bed until 8.45 am. Andy went down to the lobby to get coffees which we drank whilst we got ready to go out.
We set out to IHOP for breakfast being, as usual, slightly hindered by the sat nav, and arriving at 10 am. We both ordered orange juice and then I had a huge ham and mushroom omelette with pancakes, and Andy had the breakfast sampler - fried eggs, bacon, ham, sausage and hash browns with toast. Even me and bump were defeated by the portion here!
After breakfast we headed to Walmart at 11 am for some essentials to take home. We bought Lucky Charms, Hershey Bars, a big bag of mini candy treats, an In Touch magazine for me to read on the way home, some blue Sally Hansen nail polish and sweets for various family and friends.
We got back to the hotel at 12 and Andy started to pack away some of the stuff that we had bought into our spare bag. I knew I would be more of a hindrance than a help so I had a lie down and promptly fell asleep! When Andy had finished his packing he woke me up and we headed out again at 1.10 pm. We walked round the hotel taking some photos and video before heading off in the direction of the parks.
We went first to Guest Services to pick up our tickets for the Fantasmic Dessert Buffet for Friday night, and then went to the ticket window to buy three day park hopper tickets for the remainder of our trip.
We headed into Disneyland and straight to the Gibson Girl Ice cream Parlor. I got a scoop of cookie swirl ice cream and Andy got one of mint chocolate chip. After we had eaten our ice creams, we went to Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years, watched the film and then went back in for a look round the exhibit. This is a definite must for any Disney fan.
We went over to Toontown next to pick up a fastpass for Roger Rabbit and then went for a ride on Winnie the Pooh. I wanted to get my picture taken with Pooh bear, but the line was crazy long so we decided to try again tomorrow.
On our way back to Roger Rabbit we bought a snack box and sat down to eat it. It was really nice - it had raw carrots, celery sticks, cherry tomatoes and broccoli with ranch dressing which we both love. We ate it all except for the broccoli, I'm never quite sure what raw broccoli would be like. When we got to Roger Rabbit, the ride was broken, so we decided to head back to the hotel for a bit.
We took the monorail and arrived back at 4.40 pm. We had baths and then set off back to Disneyland at 6.30 pm. We had our tea at the Stage Door Café. We both had chicken strips and got one with fries and one with apple slices so we could share, and we got bbq sauce and honey mustard dip to go with the chicken. The seating is all outside and it was starting to cool off again so I got a hot chocolate and Andy got a coffee.
After tea we tried for Roger Rabbit again but it was still broken (or had been fixed and had broken again in the meantime). Instead we had a look round Innoventions which was quite different to the ones in Epcot, and was mostly concerned with health matters. We also went to see Honey I Shrunk the Audience which we haven't watched in years.
We picked up a fastpass for Buzz, and then rode the carousel (which had been closed for refurbishment earlier in the week) and Pirates of the Caribbean. We walked over to the Matterhorn, watching the fireworks as we went, and saw that we could queue together as we spotted an escape route for me. We couldn't believe that this ride didn't have fastpass as it was jammed almost every time we walked past, but at this time it had quietened off a little. It was, however, not meant to be as the ride broke down just as it got to Andy's turn and didn't open again for the rest of the night. I was just thankful that it didn't break with him on it. Unfortunately though, this meant he didn't get to ride it.
The Dream Suite
Andy joked that this was what happened to the last person to park their stroller in the wrong place.....
We went to use our fastpass for Buzz instead and then spent some time looking round the castle and at the sculptures of Ariel, King Triton and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
As he had missed out on the Matterhorn, Andy decided to have a spin on Big Thunder Mountain as we haven't done this ride in the dark before. I queued with him (about 20 minutes) and then just stepped through to the other side of the ride.
We just made it to Haunted Mansion for the last ride of the night with an extra creepy cast member who kept appearing behind various guests and spooking them out. I was glad she didn't choose me!
The light always burns in Walt's office
We went back to the hotel at park closing and bought Andy a couple of budweisers from the bar and a coke for me and headed up to the room at 11.45 pm. We watched Hillary Clinton on Jay Leno and then went to bed at 12.20 pm.
