I'm right in the middle of packing for our trip to WDW, and I am realizing that there is no way I am going to be able to fit any more than four pairs of jeans (plus the one pair I will be wearing) into my suitcase, which will leave me with five pairs of jeans for an eight day trip. Thus, it is inevitable that I will need to wash a small load of jeans mid trip. :sad2:

How many others out there do laundry for a week long trip, and what suggestions for maximizing the fun (:lmao: ) do you have?

:laundy:

I guess you could get more dirty/sweaty than usual at WDW, but normally I can wear a pair of jeans more than once. 5 for an 8 day trip would be plenty!

Now that we're DVC, there's a washer in the room, but back in the day we'd just pop a load in, head down to the pool, and just get out every once in a while to check on it . It wasn't too bad.

Where is the laundry at your resort?

We always do laundry during the week's stay. It makes packing much easier. We generally do it during pool time and our afternoon break. It doesn't take much time since we're hanging out by the pool anyway.

I do laundry for a week trip. It's really not that bad. While the laundry is washing and drying I read a book or we eat dinner or we go swimming. The only bad part is if you have to wait for a machine. I've had to wash a load, bring it back to the room, and go back to dry it later in the day. It helps to bring a bag of change (i think it's 3.00 a load) and bring your own detergent. Oh and bring some type of laundry bag.

First I don't take jeans they are too heavy and take up too much room.
Second Jeans can easily be worn 2-3 times before washing unless a whole plate of food was dumped on them. If I did take jeans for a week trip if I was taking no other pants the most I would take would be 3 but probably only 2 pairs.

Think about taking chinos or something they really take up so much less room and are a lot lighter.

At home, it's not uncommon for me to do this also, but after all that walking all day, the last thing I want to do after a shower the next morning is put on a pair of "dirty" jeans, you know!

I always do laundry 1/2 way through a week long trip--Disney or elsewhere. My kids are..well, kids:thumbsup2 . They get dirty and I don't want their clothes sitting with food or dirt or what-not for a whole week until I get home. That also helps me cut down on how much we bring. When we were at Disney, we did a load while they kids rested in the room (we were lucky enough to be right across from the laundry room). When we camp or vacation somewhere else, I always make sure there are laundry facilities. I've never felt it cuts into my vacation time, but my kids are still young enough that we take a break during the day anyway.

Ohhhh, I will find Pop Daddy for you. He is the King of all that is laundry, both at home and on vacation:rotfl2:

When I stay on site I have to do it and will usually do it during pool time,or I get up really early and do it.When we stay offsite it is nice to be able to throw in a load before you go to the park.

We always do laundry once in the middle of our trip. It's always at a time that the kids are at the pool, so it's not a big deal.

I send it out. No way I'm doing laundry on vacation. One of the things I look most forward to is no laundry. No cooking comes in a distant second.

I just throw it in the washer at the condo before we leave for the day.
We actually do all of our laundry on the last day that way we don't have any to do when we get back home.

I used to, but not anymore! I refuse! When people try to talk me into staying in a condo or DVC, i have two things I bring up to oppose their suggestions; I'm not cooking or doing laundry on vacation and in those types of accommodations, I feel almost obligated!

Nope, no laudry on vacation for me! I just pack extra!

There is no way I could put on a pair of jeans that I've already worn. Just can't do it. I figure on doing laundry. I'll have my soap and dryer sheets and quarters.

Hmmm, maybe I can bribe pop daddy into doing my laundry on my next trip. ::yes::

Fortunately the DVC resorts have washers and dryers in the rooms. It is a wonderful feeling to go home with all clean clothes!

DH and I almost always do laundry mid way through the trip. It's nice to not have to go home and wash ALL the clothes we bring. We usually make it a pool morning. Eat breakfast, change into our swimsuits, grab a book and the laundry and go veg. It's a nice recouperating day as well.

I always do laundry, half way through. Fairly easy, while we are swimming. Can't stand all the dirty clothes being around the room. Less packing too.

Am I the only one that has "germ" concerns about public laundry facilities? I would rather wear my jeans 100 times in a row than throw them into a washing machine that just had a stranger's underwear swimming around in it! I guess the dryer would kill any cooties picked up in the washer, but I just can't get past the ick factor. Funny, though, in college and my first few years in an apartment I did laundry in a laundromat all the time and it didn't bother me. I've gotten a lot more germaphobic as I've aged! I drive myself crazy sometimes!:upsidedow

I'm the same way and would probably wear each one at least 3 times before washing, unless something out of the ordinary happened, such as spilling something on them, walking through mud, sitting in something, etc. Then if that happened, I'd just suck it up and do a load of laundry! I like to travel as light as I can.
