Laundry etiquette

Let's not pick on someone for being law-enforcement. I'm glad their are police around and I'm happy to sail with them. Just because you disagree with someone's viewpoint is no reason to put them or their profession down. Seems like maybe you have a problem with police in general.

To be fair, the topics of law enforcement and liability were brought into a thread about ... Laundry machines full of people's dirty vacation clothes. Things went silly a few days back. I know there is serious stuff going on in the real world and it's a touchy topic but ... We are still talking about laundry. On a Disney cruise ship. Some levity is probably called for.

To quote one of my favorite drag queens, "It's not that serious."

Levity is fine and I agree it was odd to bring liability into it for moving someone's laundry. I just though the post before mine went a little too far with the current atmosphere.

Eviction can not be done by someone other than Disney as they are renting the space from them. You doing so allows liability on your side. I guess people can't read and see that Disney should be called and allow Disney to take care of. By the way. It usually takes someone 30 days before they are "evicted" even squatters have rights. Lol

Liability for what? Touching clothes does not damage them.

Squatters have rights. Laundry does not.

ROFLOL!
Thank you for that! Your own denial of the laws and procedures you work by not being law on the ship and accusing others of being defensive has given me a very good laugh tonite! Thank you!

Tell me you all are kidding......This debate has to be a joke, right?

When I first came into this thread it was to get answers to a few questions about doing laundry on a cruise ship. THANK YOU sooo much to those who have answered my questions and provided very good links to some very good and thorough information. Oddly enough, since getting my answers, I've really looked forward to reading the ongoing posts over what to do and when to do it if someone leaves their items unattended beyond the time they've paid for. I have been entertained as others have shared their thoughts on this subject. I hope the OP has also realized that MOST of us on here are supportive of her actions. When I DO go to the laundry room on the ship, I will most certainly have this thread in mind as I decide what to do...stay in room with a book??...set a timer to return 5 or 10 min ahead of done??...go to room and nap through it all and hope that someone else will take care of my stuff??...There are just so many options!! LOL.

HI MOM!

You have made this fun for me on how so serious you take it. I love Disney. Funny how many of you take it and want to continue this dirty laundry list of yours to want to poke fun at others professions.

I see how many of you have failed to see my suggestions that you should just call a cast member to handle the situation of moving the clothes. Thanks for the fun and games.

Back to a laundry question - I'm on the 6th floor and have looked at deck plans. Where is a laundry?

Back to a laundry question - I'm on the 6th floor and have looked at deck plans. Where is a laundry?

Go to this link: http://disneycruiselineblog.com/2013/01/onboard-self-and-full-service-laundry-and-dry-cleaning/

Note the laundry locations on your ship (the nearest or easiest may not be on your floor - eg we were on deck 5 forward on the Fantasy and the easiest laundry was deck 2 near the forward elevators, NOT deck 6 forward that I had been aiming for until our stateroom attendant saw me, asked if I was headed to laundry and where, and redirected me.)

Follow the link to the deck plan for your ship. The deck plans they have have the laundry rooms marked -- they look like a little front load washing machine. It helps to have an idea of where to expect them to be from the table.

I gather from other posts of yours you will be on the Fantasy.

Much depends on where you room is, but:

There is a laundry room all the way forward on deck 6 near room 6510.

There is one at the back of the ship on deck 5 near 5192.

If you are closer to midship, you could take the midship elevators to deck 10, and nearby is a laundry room near 10572.

And there is the laundry room near the forward elevators on deck 2, which may be the most convenient is you are close to those elevators or if you would have to be essentially backtracking to otherwise get to a forward laundry room.

There are a couple more on the ship; see the list.
