Laundry at Fort Wilderness

Thanks for the info. I'll be looking for the tablets and packing my quarters. There will be 6 of us, 4 aged nine and under, going this December for 9 days. Some people have said "don't do laundry, you're on vacation". I figure that the parks will close early on some evenings (or I can be an early riser) and it's worth the time to do laundry if it means that I don't have to come home to "a mountain" to quote bigdisneydaddy.

Gee, maybe we should meet up and have a DIS laundry meet! :cool1:
We'll be there from the 4th to the 17th and there are 5 of us. Since I have a couple of "nonpark" days built into our schedule, I'm going to head down to the Meadows laundry, let the kids go swimming or hit the arcade, and I'll handle the wash and hang out by the pool. :teeth:

Sounds great. We really know how to live it up, don't we. Our dates are 12/2 to 12/10 and we are staying in a cabin on this trip to FW.

I don't remember seeing laundry by the Meadows pool. There is by the cabin pool but no arcade. Have I been missing the Meadows laundry?

I've never seen a laundry by the Meadows pool, either. I know for sure there are laundry facilities at all the comfort stations, though, so you could use the 1400 laundry.

There's a good chance they mean the Loop 1400 laundry which is within a short walk to the Meadows Pool.

Yes, I meant whichever comfort station was closest to the pool area. The kids are bigger (15, 14 and 11) so they'll be fine if I wander away from the pool for just a bit (just as long as the older 2 don't 'accidentally' do anything to the younger one! ;) ).

we always do laundry on vaction at DW. We especially do it the last morning or evening before we leave. I like coming home to clean clothes. I am also an early riser 5AM. Throw the clothes in and take a shower, throw in dryer, have breakfast and to the parks we go.

I even do this if we are staying in a hotel.

Well if no one is an early riser, or you don't want to be bothered, you can always take it to an off site coin laundry place. Generally they charge you about 60 cents a pound of laundry. I've used them a few times where I live because I get so sick and tired of spending the entire day doing laundry. And I've never lost a thing. Plus you could pick it up the next day or later in the evening, they generally stay open late.

When we were there in June the coin machines were broken and I had to truck my little golf cart all the way to the trading post for change and back, but to tell the truth it was fun doing all that driving. Man I miss Disneyworld!! I can't WAIT until April!
