Later than planned pick-up at National

We had to change flight plans for our upcoming trip which makes us picking up our van at National about 3 hours later than what I originally booked. The National person I spoke with about this told me that there would be no charge for picking up late - just for returning late (which luckily isn't a problem). At the same time, though she said that it's probably best to change my ressie to the new pick-up time. Well, of course I'm not going to do that if I don't have to, because the prices are tons higher than when I booked way back when. Does anyone have any experience with this to know whether or not I'm ok just showing up 3 hours late?

Thanks!

Try to modify your reservation instead of making a new reservation. If it chamges the rate, just keep the original one.

They have fixed that little "quirk" at National. I have been making a new hobby of modifying my reservation and it does not change the price at all. They will hold your car until midnight of the reservation day, btw. Give the mod. a try, you don't have to accept it, and, the price may drop. You simply never know.

Thank you for the "modify" suggestion! I've been so scared to even attempt to play with an existing ressie due to the unfavorable outcomes that people have experienced in the past. I tried it, though, and everything worked out great. I went ahead and printed out the confirmation just to be safe. Thanks, again!!!

You are entirely welcome!!! I always print out the confirmation and have it emailed and THEN check the reservation again. Not too compulsive am I? :)
