Has anyone ever stayed at Hyatt Orlando Airport for a late arrival and gone to magical express the next morning? Is this possible?

I've read here that when you make you DME reservation, you give them a flight that comes in that morning.

Yes, people do this (either at the Hyatt or another hotel near the AirPort) all the time. Its not a problem. No need to give them a particular flight.

yes, it's possible. Do as PP said and give a flight that is listed for your day of "arrival' at WDW. We have never done this personally, because we prefer to get up the next morning and already be in WDW. But I have heard of people doing this.

I didn't realize this? We have always been asked for our flight number?

However, I have forgotten to book DME and just turned up at the airport. We gave them our resort information and they set us up and sent us to the bus.

Just tell them you aren't arriving by air but you will be at the airport at x time.

Thank you all! I will tell them what my plans are when I set up DME.

I had planned on doing this but when I compared rates for the airport and for Disney hotels, I ended up with a much better deal not staying at the airport and was in Disney that much sooner.

We have also stayed at the Hyatt however when arriving late. We now stay at an All Star resort which with discounts is cheaper. Then we are on property and have our luggage transferred to our DVC resort. We can get to the parks that much earlier.

When arriving late and needed MDE we were also told to give the first arriving plane from our hometown the next morning.

Yes. A few times.
It's rarely cheaper than a Disney value resort though so I always check the 2 and pick the cheaper option

That’s a good point! Thanks! I will price out a value for the night also!

We did this back in December and will do it again for our trip later this month. My H travels a lot for work, so both times are free stays using points or a free 1-night stay. Although we don't actually use DME, we've always been told we can just give them a particular time of arrival to reserve our spots on DME. If we didn't have the free Hyatt stays with points though, we'd definitely do what others have suggested and check to see whether a Value resort would actually be cheaper than a night at the Hyatt.

In reality spots on DME aren't reserved. The arrival info you give them just helps them play out staffing/vehicle logistical needs for the day.
Oh wow...I didn't realize that! I guess "reserve" was my word, not theirs. We usually don't actually use DME because my H and I both get carsick on buses, but we give our info as a backup in case there isn't Uber (or now Minnie Van) availability on our arrival day. If we're not using it, we walk up to the podium and let them know we've had a change of plans...I always assumed we had to let them know so they weren't saving a space for us that someone else might need. But given what you've told me about it not actually being a reservation, do we need to continue to let them know at the podium that we've made other arrangements?

No you do not.
