Late Summer/Early Fall Incentives

It seems to state that it's a free monthly membership as long as you have Disney+
from the D23 website-
I don’t see the word ‘free’ in the renew monthly wording. It renews monthly. Doesn’t specify free for a year.

I’ll enroll next month if you guys get it free :)

I already have a Disney Visa card and I’m not DVC and only have one trip planned in Nov so not a lot of benefits for someone like me.

From the FAQ:

"The D23 Gold Member Monthly Plan is a complimentary membership for Disney+ subscribers through Disney+ Perks."

"At this time, the D23 Gold Member Monthly Plan is only available to Disney+ subscribers in the United States."

There is no one else who can sign up for the free monthly plan other than D+ subscribers. It is a different offering than the paid Gold plans.

When I initially enrolled in D23 several years ago the free annual gold membership was valid for a year. There was no monthly membership from what I recall. Hopefully it’s the same offer (valid for a year).

I still don’t see anywhere where it specifies it’s valid for a year (as in free monthly for a year; usually offers will say free for first 12 months, consecutive months or free period expires 12 months after enrollment etc). It just says it automatically renews and you can cancel - why would you cancel something free; same deceptive wording other subscriptions use to bank on people forgetting to cancel.

I truly hope I’m wrong though.

The thing that really confuses me is why do you need to activate it by the end of the year if it's a continuous benefit for Disney+ subscribers?

I don't see anywhere that says you can cancel...I saw it said that it automatically renews unless you cancel your D+ subscription or D+ Perks.

I think it's monthly because Disney+ is monthly. They don't want you doing Disney+ for a month getting the annual gold and then dropping Disney+. I think it's a nice perk actually.... do Disney+ get D23. You cancel Disney+ then you have to pay for D23.
yes, it also makes me think that D23's new pricing strategy this year was a bit of a bust... dropping the free magazine, duo subscriptions, and a very odd gift pricing model tells me memberships are down...

the free one seems to not include any physical kits being mailed, meaning all this does is swell d23 memberships at no cost to disney...
