The fact that they made the 150 point incentive the most enticing for Riv makes me feel like they're looking to sell to resale looking to be direct members faster. The 200 point and 100/125 isn't enticing. Its calling me

They keep alternating incentives for AKL and SSR and it never seems to work well for them this year

But, if you ignore MB on the 150, you're still looking at $10,000 extra for the 50 additional points compared to 100 points + D23 + AP.

Welp, going to have to buy RIV direct - that 150 price is good. As soon as my Poly check comes in - plenty of time to grab in Sept for my Oct use year.

I keep considering a 150ish direct purchase. But man, RIV resale is just over $100 (at least if you look). Restrictions have hammered their value. It's hard to justify the gap. $170 or so for Poly would be fine, which would be $20 or so more than the resale Poly points I bought in spring.

But there's a reason that riv resale is so cheap and why the large gap and the reason is kind of a big deal.

Its a hard sell for many If we like Riv we need to accept that the restrictions are going to create a large gap probably always.

No disboarder will buy Riv if the gap needs to be justified. To me it is, because im not buying a contract with one resort For those perfectly happy with staying there always until 2070 then yes resale obv the better deal

We love that Riv resale is cheap. We have 525 resale points over 2 contracts there for that reason and love the resort. With having other non restricted resale and direct Disneyland Hotel it works very economically and well for us.

Its a great deal compared to direct for those that are ok with staying there at least every other year. But there is great value in being able to stay at 14 resorts with resale pricing which is why it's cheap and not on par with Poly and VGF resale imo
