Late spring 2025 incentives (April 29-July 14)

Would LOVE to know which cards you used! I made our guide spread out my VGC direct over the 60 days so I would have time to work on credit cards!
I think this is what we we got. It was a bit easier to get so many cards because we had 90 days and I got a couple cards prior to signing the DVC contract knowing I was buying. I hit this heavy and was a bit concerned getting so many in such a short period of time but everything turned out fine.
  • Amex Biz Gold 200k Bonus - 1 point per dollar for DVC purchases - 6 months 0% interest
  • Amex Biz Platinum 250k Bonus - 1.5 points per dollar for purchases over $5,000
  • Chase Ink Preferred 120k bonus + 40k referral bonus - 3 points per dollar for DVC purchases
  • My husband also got a Chase Ink Preferred 120k bonus + 40k referral bonus - 3 points per dollar for DVC purchases
  • Chase Ink Unlimited for myself w/ referral from my husband. 90K + 20K referral bonus - 3 points per dollar for DVC purchases
  • Chase Ink Unlimited for my husband w/ a referral from me 90k + 20K referral bonus - 3 points per dollar for DVC purchases
  • Delta Gold Biz for me 90K + 6k referral to my husband
  • Delta Gold for husband 80k + 3k referral
For my recent VGC purchase I got Capone Venture 100k plus referral of 20k, My husband also got one for 100k. Amex Blue Plus for 75k no interest 12 months.

Here is a good thread I started https://www.disboards.com/threads/w...dvc-contract-credit-card-rewards-etc.3946321/

Do you have any Chase Sapphire products or have you received a Sapphire bonus in the last 48 months? The current 100k promotion is great. If you can open two cards (you open one and then refer another person on the deeded contract) you can net 230,000 Ultimate Rewards points. That is $2,300 cash 1:1 and there are even better redemptions beyond that.

This is one I’m definitely considering for both myself and my husband! I just need to figure out when the last big promo was that we took advantage of to make sure we’re eligible! Thank you! 😅

The 40k Ink referral with elevated CIP was amazing with the VGF sale in 2023! Sad it's dropped to 20k now.

Just remember each bank has some rules.

Chase has 2/30 (no more than 2 Chase applications within a 30-day period) and 5/24 (no more than 5 new personal credit cards showing on your credit report within 24 months).

Amex has 2/90 (no more than 2 approvals in 90 days) for credit cards like BBP, BBC, Delta, and Hilton and you can only hold a total of 5 Amex credit cards. Charge cards like green, gold, and plat don't fall subject to this, but you're limited to opening one of each type every 30 days up to 10 charge cards total.

With spreading our payments we split each one over 2 cards. DVC scheduled to repeat the same each month and we stuck with that. Our guide let us know a quick call before the monthly due date was all that was needed to change payment source. So it’s pretty easy if someone wanted to maximize credit cards points and sign up bonuses.

Curious about the how the referrals work- don't one of you have to have the card first to get a referral bonus, and therefore wouldn't you only get one of those per card? Or are you counting a referral to a third person?

For Chase Inks it can be any card within the Ink family, I had an old Ink from awhile ago that I used a jump off point to refer my husband, then he referred me back for a different INK. For Amex as long as you have any Amex you can refer to any Amex not just a specific Amex like Delta, and I have had an Amex for many years so thats how we got started with that referral train. For Capone Venture yes you have to have a Capone Venture so we only earned the 1 referral bonus on that one.

I have a tough time believing people saying that the promotions should be better because they’re convinced of an upcoming recession.

If these people were truly convinced of an upcoming recession, they would want to keep their powder dry for when the hardship actually comes.

If they are hoping to buy now at a steep discount, it seems like they’re hoping to take advantage of other people’s fear.

Not an issue of recession or not, just a matter of higher prices leading to lower demand. They already got the people who wanted to buy at "any price" and with no MB. Then they added MB (and jacked up the price in return) and got those willing to pay ~200/pt after MB and various other minor discounts. I could be wrong, but I don't think they'll be selling 90K+ points per month at these higher prices.

If they do magical beginnings for SSR, doesn't that bring it down to 179 a point direct for 150 points? That's not as low as VGF was, but that is lower for direct. Was VGF's fire sale using magical beginnings?

Don't forget the 10 extra years though -
VGF expires 2064.
SSR expires 2054.

DVD may not price it like that, but it does matter.

Completely fair, I know that Ko Olina is a pretty good bang for your buck.

I just took a look at the rooms… I personally prefer the Aulani room theming.

We own with Marriott too (not at Ko Olina, but can use our points "currency" to book there) and have split our stay on Oahu between Aulani and Marriott. We thought both resorts were great to stay at, but found Ko Olina much more relaxing - definitely a different vibe. Without kids, I might have a stronger preference for the Marriott.

Ko Olina is consistently ranked among the top 5 MVC resorts, (I'll exclude the Ritz Carlton Club resorts, which imo are in a category of their own). I find most MVC resorts not very memorable, but Ko Olina was definitely nice enough to remember. It's not very super "themed" but it is very nice.

In terms of value - no comparison if you look at Redweek rental values compared to renting Aulani from an owner at $21-$24/pt. And one can make Ko Olina even more affordable by renting/booking a Sun-Fri stay (similar reasons to the WDW points charts)

I’m not really comfortable with the whole redweek process. Maybe something I need to learn more about.

I have rented through Redweek in the past (as an owner) and, since their acquisition, they have now transitioned to a fully "verified and protected" model. Owners cannot post DIY listings anymore (unless you list a tentative range of dates) so pretty much all confirmed reservations there will soon be "verified" by Redweek and they offer "protection" to renters in the sense that the owners don't get paid until after the renter checks in and Redweek will try to make things right if something goes wrong. I don't particularly like this change mostly because this new process costs me a lot more in Redweek fees (it also costs renters an extra 10%). If I were on the other side of the transaction as a renter, I do think it is a lot safer now for casual renters. As someone more experienced, I may still contact an owner directly via the "ask a question" feature to see if we can work off platform and mutually save on fees - Redweek already verified that the listing is real :)

I appreciate all of the Marriott info, but the context of the post was that in addition to Aulani the direct points can be used at VGC, VDH, and all of WDW at 7m. Discounts at the parks on food/merch.

Coincidentally, my D23 Gold Membership package arrived today. The package came with a coupon book with a variety of discounts, including the $500 off for DVC purchases. The discount page confirms it runs through Dec 31st, 2026 although it has the standard verbiage about it being subject to change.

Valid for new and existing members but requires a minimum of 150 points for new members and 100 points for existing members.

I got mine today, haven't opened it yet, good to know it lasts until December in case something good pops up!

Very nice! Has anyone heard from their guide whether or not it's still being honored?

I am willing to email mine for the links to keep him warm. He has no idea I am interested.

I don't want to ask and get him excited like last time I dipped 🤣🤣
I understand! I hate reaching out if I am not interested. I did call when early cabin info dropped to be nosey and he asked if I wanted to be added to his interest list and I said no. PVB is different. I am not personally a fan of the studios, but I am really tempted by that one bedroom theme park view even though it's wide open in the 11-month window. The prices are worse today than yesterday so I am torn.
