Late Disneymoon, does it count?

A short intro about ourselves, DH is 26 and I'm 24 and we currently live in Indiana. No pics yet as we have not been to disney before but there will be tons in the trip report!

DH and I got married in 2011 right out of college. Not wanting to spend a lot of money as we were just starting out, we went for a short minimoon in a resort in Pennslyvania. Now that we are more stable financially, we are going for our Disneymoon! DH have been there twice when he was a kid but this would be my first time.

We are going from Dec 13th to 22nd, staying at WL. I'm an obsessive planner and I have been researching non stop since we booked our trip. Being a first timer, I'm not sure how realistic my plan is but here goes:

Arrival day
Check in at WL
Adr lunch at raglan road
Shopping and sightseeing at Dtd
MK for some fasspass rides
Adr ohana for dinner
Return to MK if there's night EMH

Day 1
Rope drop epcot
Future world and tour as much countries as possible
snack around the world for dinner
Adr beaches and cream, share a burger and kitchen sink!!

Day 2
Rope drop MK
Follow easy wdw touring plan
fP headliners 12 - 3
Lunch at Columbia harbour house at 11/12
Hoop dee doo for dinner at 4
Return to MK and do some other rides
Desert party for wishes
Watch second parade from main st if we can get a spot after the party?

We are waiting to see if our dates co inside with any discounts before getting flights. But I'm thinking of booking southwest for the first time, if there's no penalty to change, maybe I should get it once dec dates opens?

So far, the planning has me super excited for your belated Disneymoon. I have always, ALWAYS wanted to do the dessert party for Wishes--I feel like there's something about the fireworks + dessert combo that could be uber romantic.

Also, I think you should still be able to find a good spot for the second parade. A lot of people (especially with small kids) leave after the fireworks, so if you just browse through the shops while people leave, you can usually scoot to see the parade pretty easily.

Ah! I want to know more! Subscribing so that I can keep up with all of the fun planning!

Yay, u're here! I can't wait for December hours to be released so I can see the party dates and which day for which park. I only know we must start the first full day in MK. I heard the desert party is really hard to book and I also have BOG dinner as one of our must do's. Can't believe I'm stressing over dining reservations
I so hope that the second parade strategy would work out, Browsing the shops while others leave is a good idea!! You know, I ll probably still be looking for snacks then. You would not believe the list of disney food/snacks I made, I love to eat lol.

First time at WDW!!! So much fun! I hope you have blast! You are definitely at the right place, everyone here could give so many tips and suggestions, you shouldn't have any problems at all!

So far I think your plan sounds totally realistic! Raglan Road is a fantastic restaurant! I have only been for dinner, but I'm sure lunch is still fabulous! I could recommend so many places to snack around the world at Epcot! If you want any suggestions just let me know!

I can't wait to hear about Hoop-Dee-Do, that is one of the dining experiences that I haven't done, along with the Wishes Dessert Party, it is always booked by the time I get around to making reservations. I agree with her that you shouldn't have any problems getting a spot for the 2nd parade. I believe the Dessert Party is held on the Tomorrowland Terrace which is SUPER accessible to Main Street, as far as the best route to Frontierland, if I was at the dessert party and wanted to get over to Frontierland, I would crossover Main Street in front of Casey's Corner, past the First Aid/Crystal Palace go through Adventureland and then turn right at Magic Carpets of Aladdin, and go under the overhang beside the Sunshine Tree Terrace.

I'm sitting down doing our budget right now. I did the food budget some time ago, but we made some alterations, so we probably have to redo them. One thing, I'm really not sure is how much spending money should I allocate? The spending money would be for fun stuff like souvenirs, alcoholic beverages at dinner, extra snacks etc. We are getting the dining plan, so my food budget was mostly tips, meals that we are paying Out of pocket for Extra TS and appetizers. We might upgrade to the deluxe dining if it's less that the regular dining plus our out of pocket prices.

Yay for budgets... Spending money is a hard thing to estimate, because everyone is different on what they would buy. I would really think about what sort of things you may buy and how much they cost. Like how much alcohol/snacks/etc you would get in a day, then multiply that by the number or days you will be there, to be safe?

Alcohol is easy, my max is 2 a day. Snacks is a different story lol. I'm not sure what I want to buy there yet, probably a few t shirts, mickey ears, and I heard something about pick a pearl in epcot , maybe a few accessories lol

I should research the setting prices then, I would probably want a necklace.

I'm not sure yet, I think I want a minnie one. It's probably too late for us to get one that says just married now lol. I doubt I want anything too crazy, my only requirement is it can't be heavy as I get headaches easily. Wow! Since early 90s? The quality must be really good! Usually, I budget for two snacks per day per person. That way, we can have an ice cream, some candy, a churro, popcorn, etc. in the morning, and then again in the afternoon. It helps stretch the time between eating actual meals so we can get more done! We're big believers in getting up super early and staying as late as we can, so we need those snacks to keep powering through!

It's been a while since I had a cocktail at WDW (the last couple of times that I've been were whirlwinds trips where we basically didn't sit down to eat!), but I want to say they're mostly in the $8-$10 range. So, if you're planning on having a cocktail each day, maybe budget $10-$15 per person? I guess it would depend if you wanted something with both lunch and dinner.

You're right, I need some new ears! It's become more of an experiment to see just how many trips they can last through than anything else right now! I want to retire them before they get all ratty, so this upcoming trip may be the one where I get new ears!! (Which brings up a completely new set of decisions--ears or headband? Traditional Minnie or something crazy? SO. MANY. CHOICES!!)

Update! I managed to get free dining today, I'm beyond excited. Yes, I was on hold for 2 hours and 1 dropped call in the middle of the conversation but I'm beyond happy now. With FD, we decided to add an extra night, so we are going on the 13th now. There will be some tweak to my plans which I will update in a bit

That is awesome news!! Tell me your secrets! How did you get free dining?! I was waiting to book bc Disney usually releases free dining packages in Aug or Sept...but I would book now if I could get the same deal!
