Late Check Out?

Does anyone here have experience checking out of their resort room after 11? My DBF's father will be picking us up from ASSpo between 1230-1 and we didn't get park tickets for that day. What are the chances we can extend our check out time about 2 hours, without penalty? Has anyone ever done this??

We just did this 2 weeks ago at the Poly.

You have to go to the desk the day before you check out and see if they can do it. It depends on arrivals coming in next day, etc.

We were granted a 2 hr late checkout, which was great. But again, there are no guarantees. HTH

When we stayed at the Poly in March, we called the day before our departure and requested a late check out. We were able to checkout at 1pm.

WDW LATE CHECKOUT:

1) DVC rooms do not allow late check-outs.
2) Other resort late checkouts are permitted by Housekeeping, not the Front Desk.
3) It depends upon
. . . number of check-ins and check-outs that day
. . . occupancy of the resort the night before
. . . how nice you talk to Housekeeping
. . . staffing and/or absenteeism of maids
. . . phase of the moon
4) If allowed,
. . . check-out 11:00am-1:00pm, no charge
. . . check-out 1:00pm-3:00pm, up to 50% of the room rate
. . . check-out 3:00pm or later, up to 100% of room rate
5) Housekeeping decides if you will be charged or not be charged a fee.
6) This is done by the Housekeeping Manager after the room is cleaned.
7) You will know if there is a charge when you see the credit card statement.
8) You can store your luggage with Bell Services.
9) When ready to leave, use the pool restroom or spa to shower & change.

Our flight got changed and with four kids as young as six months bing able to have a room fr a few hrs longer would be greattttttt

Yes, it happens. We've been given late 1 pm checkouts, and at other times had to checkout at 11 am.

We did this in April at the GF. I wasn't sure if they would grant it since we were checking out on a Saturday and I assume that's a busy day for check-ins but they said no problem.

We were also granted this request at the Poly in 2009 and the BC in 2008. We didn't try on our trips in between because we had morning flights.
