Late Breakfast Buffet - will I see Lunch items?

Has anyone ever had a late character breakfast where the started bringing out lunch items?

We have 11:15 am reservations for the new Playhouse Disney Character Breakfast at Hollwood and Vine in MGM. The character lunch begins at 11:45. I think it would be cool to get something from both menus.

Since this Character Breakfast is new, I realize no one will have experienced the breakfast/lunch change over, but does anyone have info from other buffets at WDW?

I'm not sure if it has changed since then, but a couple of years ago, we had the Hollywood & Vine book for breakfast at 11:00. Mickey, minnie, goofy, chip and dale were there at the time . They switched over to lunch at 12:00, and we were able to go up to that buffet too, no extra $$$. Needless to say we ate good that day!

Back when Hollywood & Vine had Minnie and Friends characters, we had scheduled a late breakfast and was able to eat both breakfast or lunch.

I don't know the exact time but at one point, they closed down the right side buffet and quickly transferred all remaining breakfast foods to the left side buffet line. Within minutes, the right side buffet was full of lunch items. For the last half hour of our meal we had the option of breakfast on the left and lunch on the right.

It was actually quite nice.

We had a late breakfast at Crystal Palace once and all they had was the breakfast menu. They would actually close the restaurant between breakfast and lunch so they could change the buffet items.

Did they wait for you to leave before they changed the buffet? I couldn't imagine being done with breakfast in 30 minutes! Our ADR is for 11:15 am and the CM told me the first lunch ADR was at 11:45.

Where can I find out about this new character meal? Is it on the WDW site yet? What characters are supposed to be there? thanks

No Problem. The Character Meal begins June 25 in MGM studios at the Hollywood and Vine. The characters are Playhouse Disney. You can find more information on Allearsnet http://allearsnet.com/index.html.
