Late breakfast at MK

I'm planning for next year's trip and am planning getting to MK for rope drop to see the opening show one day (probably doesn't sound like a big deal, but yes, getting my DH and two teenage boys to MK for rope drop will be a very big deal!).

I was hoping to reserve a late breakfast at BOG, but looked at the menu and don't think the boys will be interested in the selection (and I was surprised that breakfast is so much more expensive than lunch!).

Does anyone have any good, somewhat special, breakfast restaurant ideas for MK?

Assuming you want TS, your only options are BOG, Crystal Palace (buffet), and CRT.

BOG is the only one of those that isn't a character meal. CRT has princesses and CP has Pooh & Friends.

CP is what it is, but I like it. Pooh's Puffed French Toast is one of my favorites. That would be my pick in your situation.

Yep. Previous poster is correct and would also suggest Crystal Palace for an in park breakfast. Pooh and friends may be a tough sell depending on your boys ages. I'm throwing O'hana in the mix for a late breakfast around 10:45. Plenty of time for rope drop and then a quick monorail ride to the Polynesian (assuming a 7 or 8 park open). They are always running late, so I would be surprised if you were sat before 11. Yes, its still characters, but even teenage boys think Stitch is cool right? With the later breakfast you won't have to deal with very many of the parades that make the breakfast so noisy. Did I mention that the food is so much better too? Its a tough ADR to get, but the later time will help. Its not harder than a Crystal Palace will be anyway.

Princesses Meets Princely Teenage Boys….and they all Live Happily Ever After!

The headline writes itself.

Cinderella's Castle.

But if you are balking at the high cost of Breakfast at BoG, Cinderella's Castle is probably not so good either.

Oh, BoG breakfast comes with assorted bread/muffin basket, so there is more value than meets the eye. And you don;t have to order a breakfast for everyone if you are being budget-conscious.

Alternative - order room service for 6:30am delivery the night before for two people. This should be plenty of food to share before leaving for Rope Drop. Also, the smell of food will get those boys out of bed quicker-than-quick and you'll be certain to make Rope Drop. Carry along a few protein bars and have QS lunch at 11am with no lines.

I currently have a 9:50AM breakfast booked on 11/17 for Crystal Palace. But I keep trying to get a BOG reservation if one opens up. I'm torn on which one is better! Of course, it might not be an issue if I can't even get a BOG res, haha...

Consider going alone. Wait... hear me out.

At DL I am an early rising rope dropper and while my guys will indulge that... they'd rather sleep in sometimes. Some mornings I get up, go do the things that matter to me but not to them and let them join me later. Opening ceremonies, an extra ride on IASW, breakfast somewhere only I care for... by 11 am when they call to tell me that they're in the park, I've done the little things that are special to me (and that they would endure politely) and then we have the day everyone wants.

If you have a special morning in mind, rather than making it conform to the wishes of people who aren't really into it, consider a little solo time and have it exactly as you want it. It can be a real delight.

Oh my, that sounds like a fabulous morning! I wonder if DH would be up for watching the kiddos while I indulged in solo Disney time... ;)

You can take a boat at magic Kingdom and go to Fort Wilderness to Trails end. It's a Buffet, no characters and the price is good!

No need to spend an hour or more for something special.

I brought 4 teenaged boys to crystal palace and they loved it! They all took selfies with the characters and if they are big eaters its a no brainer to go with a buffet. Its one place they asked to go back if we ever go again. I think our party eat a whole tray of bacon between us.

That actually is a very good idea. I would love for them to go with me just once to see the show and experience the park not mobbed with people. After that, I think I'd enjoy going it alone while they sleep in!

The castle and crystal palace do look like fun, my problem is that we aren't big breakfast eaters, so I definitely don't think we'd get our money's worth!

That does look good, and definitely more in line with what I want to spend!

I didn't realize these were the only choices for TS breakfast. I would love the magic of one of the three, but not sure I can justify the cost! I would LOVE to eat in the castle, though!

You could also do Gaston's Tavern. It's a limited menu -- cinnamon rolls and chocolate croissants are the only breakfast food -- but the theming is fun, it's cheap, and it won't take up a lot of time.

Sounds good- I'll take a look!

I've heard a lot of great things about Trail's End. I checked out the menus and my family would love it! Do you know about how long it takes to travel there from MK?

The last time I got the cinnamon rolls, they were fresh out of the back (and the icing was still wet) and they were as dry as dust. No flavor to the bread at all. Didn't finish it and I always finish a good cinnamon roll.
