Anyone else notice that for late aril, they have extended the hours for MK? On the 24th and 25th, they are now open till 11pm(non emh!), and on the 27th will be open till 1am(wich the extra magic hours). also, 2 spectromagics on sunday and monday(yep, 2, with the second ones at 11pm).... I havent noticed any other park hour changes yet.

What!!! Oh No!! We picked those dates in the hopes of low crowds.

I am not sure, because I just noticed they havent extended other park hours, and they moved the second Fantasmc at mgm that was supposed to be at 10pm on the 26th, they moved to the 23rd(saturday). maybe they are just fine tuning their schedules, or maybe they got lots of requests to make up for the grad nights?

Thanks for the update! I had been checking the hours everyday, but couldn't check the past couple of days so I hadn't seen this.

Lets hope they are just fine tuning there scheduals! :teacher: and that crowds will not be that high! :grouphug:

I read on the resort board that there is going to be a Traveler's Agaent Convention at the Swan & Dolphin. First someone said 100k people, then they have it down to 10K. So who knows.

Be careful! They did that in November on a Sat. night during the "low" season. I stupidly went thinking, ok, a few more people will be ok. I wanted to see Spectromagic and they were only showing it two times that week. OH MY!!! Needless to say, we left, and that was a project in itself. I could not believe how packed it was. You couldn't walk anywhere. Stay away from MK those nights. I would say they're definitely expecting big crowds.

I wouldn't panic. It could be to make up for the fact that April 22nd, 23rd, 29ith and 30th are Grad Nights. The Magic Kingdom is closing at 7PM those nights except for Grads of course. Maybe enough people complained about Grad Nights and Marketing decided to cut us non-grads a break.

Ugh... I hope that is not an indicator of crowds. We will be there April 25-May 2. We were hoping that crowds would be manageable since its the week before the big celebration.

I believe I noticed one other time change. Disney Studios on April 26th was scheduled to close at 10:00PM with Evening EMH until 1:00AM. However, now the scheduled park closing is 8:30PM with EMH until 11:30PM. I had it written on my itinerary as a 10:00PM closing, but when I just checked it said 8:30PM. Anyone else notice this?

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

I'm not ready to panic yet. There are still many rooms open on site from what I see on the WDW site.
I was hoping for lower crowds but i still think it will be ok :)

Yes, I think thats why they got rid of the second Fantasmic(which is now on the 23rd). So I am hoping it was just minor schedule adjustments.. I was there the same time last year and MK was never open that late(always closed at 9 or earlier). so hopefully it wont be busy(of course, last year they didn't have EMH either, so that will be nice if it isnt too crowded.

They have added Spectromagic parade every night that last week of april. I am happy because I thought I was going to miss it, but I am also a little bummed about the 10 pm wishes. I am afraid the little ones will be conked out by that time. At least the next day is our scheduled sleep-in day.

Not only are there Grad Nights, but the big 50th celebration starts the following week, so it isn't surprising to see some schedule juggling....

YESSSSSSS!!!!!! Our dates are the 27th to the 1st and Spectro was not listed so we were so bummed. DD cried she was so disappointed. So crowds aside, I for one am thrilled. DD is jumping on her bed like a maniac as we speak!

I don't think the crowds will be bad. We were there last May and the MK was open till 10 several nights and the crowds were not bad at all. MGM was open till 9 everynight we were there. Of course, it's still not the 11pm times of this year, but not a huge difference so I think we'll be okay!

I tried booking rooms through the website just to check things out over a week and a half ago. EVERYTHING was coming up unavailable for the last week of April. When did you try to book rooms over the website last????

That ARDA conference is being held at the Swan / Dolphin so that area is going to be swamped....they are expecting 3500 attendees (multple that by about 3 for people bringing their family along) with activities planned during th evening at the hotels (including a Big Bad Voodoo Dady concert). I don't think the conference will have a huge effect on the park crowds since the attendees have to work the show and involve themselves in the activities. With the planned night time networking activities, that should also balance things out a bit. According to many people on this board, conferences have never seemed to throw things off.

I am a bit worried about the late spring break happening up in the NE.

I dunno people....none of this is sounding good AT ALL to me at this point and I will be there April 24th - 30th. I hope we can get some more input over these developments. I hope this change was made to offset the early closings due to grade night on the 29th...that doesn't seem likely though. I'm thinking it is gonna be slammed.

What should be the gameplan in light of this?

Thanks for the info.....I'm bracing myself...UGH.
