Late April Hour Changes for MK

I know when I booked a few months ago the last week of April I thought it would be a good time to go. After finding out a large section in the North Eastern US is off school that week I have been panicing.

I'm glad to see that the park hours have been extended, and more Spectromagic added.

This means I needed change my plans once again. :rotfl2: Instead of doing US/IOA on the Saturday, the 23rd; our first full day; I think we'll move it to Monday, the 25. We'll miss Mardi Gras, but the shouldn't be as bad. (I hope) :wizard:

I'm sure the parks will be crowded during our trip. Not near as bad as the last to weeks, but not as slow as previous years. I plan to take advantage of EMH and use fastpass as much as possible.

Now, I need to see how much of an impact the new park hours will have on my PS. :sad2

Thanx for the heads up - I went over & checked the hours for the week previous (16-24) and the hours had changed for my trip also. :cool1:

More crowds, probably - But more hours in the Parks & more chances to catch Spectro and Fantasmic!

This is fabulous!! Thanks so much for the heads up... my kids are going to freak to finally see Spectromagic again!!

I tried booking rooms through the website just to check things out over a week and a half ago. EVERYTHING was coming up unavailable for the last week of April. When did you try to book rooms over the website last????

Interesting hours change...

But whatever the crowd levels... I am still going :earsboy:

just a heads up, contrary to popular belief ,most of the North East does NOT, have the last week in april off. I think it is only PART of NY and NJ.. everyone I know in the north east has vacation either a week or two earlier. so no need to panick yet.. :earsboy:

Here in northern NJ....spring break for the schools has already begun. But each district it seems has different weekd off. For instance the town I live in was off this past week. But the town I work in (2 towns over...15 minutes away) the spring break starts Fri 4/22.

I am glad for the scheduling change to get more time in the parks & see Spectro & Fantasmic. I will be there 4/21-4/25. :Pinkbounc I also need to go check out my PS arrangements so I don't miss Wishes & Spectro!! :scratchin HHMMM....better get on that.

I hope the crowds are not to bad. :crowded: Regardless, we are going & plan to enjoy! :disrocks:

That's true. We live in Central NY and all the schools in this area have the third week off.

Our schools also have the third week off.

The UG has the last week of April listed as a 3 crowd wise?? I was really counting on that. I have my fingers crossed for low crowds.

I can't seem to find this information about the 11:00 show times for Sun, Mon. I'll be there from the 21 until the 1st of may. This could my days around. :Pinkbounc

Yes check on the WDW site . It does say that there is a spectro at 9 and another one at 11pm

Also...I use PS ressies as a barometer. I needed to change a ressie, group of 6, for the last week. Was able to get the Storybook Princess for 6 people NO PROBLEM....had my choices of times. That tells me the crowds can't be too out of control :).

I was also able to get a Wishes cruise...never had luck before even at the 90 day window.

It's not going to be awful crowds...maybe a bit more than anticipated...but use your FPs, make your PS ressies and you'll be fine :).

But where? I can only find park hours. I can't find anything specifically on the parade schedule.

Thanks

When you are looking at the calendar for the hours, you click on the date and it will come up with the schedule for that day for parades and fireworks.

Thank you!

I agree with a previous poster about making ps', or rather the ease of doing so. I just made LTT for that Wednesday night which is EMH and Spectro and had no problem getting the time I wanted. That seems like kind of a good sign! We did end up moving from ASMO to POR because we figure we will spend more time at our resort due to more crowds etc. I am too excited to care about crowds! Plus, I don't think there are any true low times left. The UOG listed our time in October last year as a 2 out of 10. No way was it that. With people rescheduling due to the hurricanes, Food and Wine and MNSSHP, it was hardly a 2. But we still had a great time. Oh, and during our Janurary/February visit I was expecting walk ons the whole time. There were certainly some nice low days but our last day at MK was a nightmare and I saw a lot of other people post to that same effect. I can't stress anymore, we go when we can and will just be flexible. At least that 's what I am saying now, we'll see how I feel in three and half weeks!

Well, the hotels not being at capacity that week is GOOD news...I swear I tried over a week and a half ago and the site was coming up with absolutely NOTHING...I even tried different levels of service at every hotel. This all is still making me nervous so I am digging in and making up an itinerary just in case the "fly by the seat of your already awesome amount of disney tricks, tips, and knowledge gets smacked in the face with nasty crowds."
