Help.....

I can't decide if we should go down the last week in Oct which would include Halloween, or the second week in November which would include veterans day.

I am looking for the slowest time, like everyone else I guess!!! The kids are small but in the early years of school, so veterans would be an extra day the kids would't have to miss.

we were there the second week in Dec this year, and to me the crowds were not terrible, but busier than when we used to go in Jan. The MVMCP on Dec 11, was packed though, so I don't think I would do that again.

Any ideas on the best time.

It would be hard to notice a difference between these two weeks. I'd go with whatever fit my schedule better.

We were there for Halloween week and the extra activities for the youngsters made it very special. We're going the week before Thanksgiving next year because we want them to see some Christmas decorations. MK was very very nicely decked out for Halloween, and the Liberty Tree Tavern is a great place to eat with your family because the characters are all decked out in Halloween costumes. Eating there was lots of fun for the DGC.

I took my DGD over to Toon Town Fair for autographs on 2 days, and the lines were not bad at all. I do not think that the crowds were bad during Halloween week. We only did MK and AK.

Wow, that is what I wanted to hear. Since we just saw the holiday decorations and we haven't been during Halloween we thought that would be a good time. Did anyone do the MNSSHP?

Over on the trip planning boards a lot of people who went during Halloween were saying it was very crowded during that time. DH and I took a quick weekend trip(I believe the weekend before Halloween) and we just did MNSSHP and it was great and the crowds were super low. We probably just got lucky because others commented that other nights of the party were packed. The party was so much fun and I really want to do it again and take the kids but I really hate crowds and am afraid to give it a try. Our favorite time to go is week before Thanksgiving because of the lack of crowds, but even that time is getting busier. This year there were times when it seemed so crowded and then times we were asking where'd everyone go?!LOL

I know and that is supposed to be a low week the week of Halloween according to a bunch of different resources.
I can't do the crowd thing, I really can't. I also wanted to see it at Halloween this time instead of Christmas.

We didn't do MNSSHP, the children are too young, and go to bed by 8. We also didn't have particularly nice warm weather that week. We did swim, but there was rain on quite a few days, beginning on the Saturday before. Then Halloween's eve it poured off and on during Trick or Treating at DTD... no one got sick.

My children are young and usually in bed early too. Would you go again during Halloween, despite the weather, did you have a nice time then?

We have been in Jan 3 times, and each year it is totally different, last year, it was 45-50 degrees and it rained and rained and rained. But...this Dec it was 80 and beautiful!!!!! Oh, I wish I could predict the weather...long in advance

We had a great time, and considered going in '08 for that very same week. However, the icy lights on Cinderella's castle, have won us over. DH and I were there in December, and we told the family about them, so we are going the week before Thanksgiving in '08. Now, in 07, they began the MVMCP before Thanksgiving, and Osborne lights were up and lit, so we're hoping to get the Christmas holiday experience with the family this year.

If you go the week of Halloween, of the resorts that we know about, the BWV had the best Halloween experience from late afternoon through the evening. DTD had trick or treating both on Halloween and it's eve. The Boardwalks Village Green area had a DJ, and there were stations for getting temp tattoos, doing beadwork and more. IF we were going again for Halloween night, we would get there when the festivities began. We didn't walk around the whole circle, but I did ask if the Y/BC had any festivities going on, and was told "no."

We stayed at VWL, and were in the parks when most of the Halloween activities took place there. The only thing we did there was to admire the jack-o-lanterns that various CM had put together. However, in that event as well, I think that most of the GREAT jack-o-lanterns were done by the CM's at the Boardwalk and we admired them in the main lobby there.

We have been during both of those weeks and found the crowds about the same. We did attend MNSSHP on October 30th and did find that to be very crowded, even though the parks were not that crowded during the day. I'd guess that MSNNHP is probably crowded that whole week leading upto Halloween.
