I realize that it's somewhat last minute and that the food and wine festival is taking place during this time....i tried to make a ressie for 10/31 through 11/5 today and was informed that all studios in DVC are booked.....i was put on a waitlist so i'll just wait and see....my question is whether or not anyone else is/has been in my situation for these days and what the outcome was.

keeping my fingers crossed!

I just called today to get a 2Br from 10/28-11/1 and all I could get was OKW. I'm really hoping that the parks aren't going to be completely packed!

Last year we decided to go to the Food & Wine about this time and could not get a room at the same location for 4 nights. We started with 2 nights at BWV, 1 at WLV and 1 at BCV. Within a few weeks we had made a change to 2 locations. I started calling once a week and was lucky to get after many changes 4 nights at BCV. The only problem was we could not get the same size room for all nights and had to move rooms day 3 and again day 4. That was something I did not enjoy doing packing each day and checking back to get the room. I made it a point to be at the front desk between 7:30 and 8:00AM to make the arrangements and try to get the first room available. The first move was acceptable with getting the room by noon time. The last move even though I had made arrangements again by 8:00AM we did not get the room until 4:00PM..

We wanted Boardwalk or our home Beach Club but after that experience I will be willing to take anything that did not require a move.

Good luck but I would give them some time then start calling as I did, weekly just to check. Once you get to 30 days out you may not have much luck.

Hope you get something.

As you know, 10/31 is Halloween. Many DVC members as well as the general public visit in October to attend MNSSHP (Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party) in the MK. The 10/31 party always sells out, so you may have a tough time getting Halloween night.

Anyway, my advice is to make a back up reservations somewhere (if you haven't already) and then hope the waitlist is kind.

Best wishes -

I had to waitlist for my first two nights, for a 1BR standard view at BWV. I waited about two months, but, thankfully, they did come through.

But, I had made my reservation at the 11 month mark at BCV, then, at the seven month mark, I called and switched to BWV.

At this late date, I would also have a back-up plan, in case your waitlist doesn't come through.

Good luck! :D

We made our reservations at about 7 months (whenever we became members, can't remember exactly) last year for a Studio at VWL 11/1-11/7 and had no problems - but this is considerably later... And it was pretty busy at all of the parks.

I was there again the 2nd week of June this year (and first week of June last year) and felt the parks weren't as crowded in June as they were in Nov. (That happened to be NJ Week, as well - when we did the HDDR and they went around asking where people were from about 75% were from NJ!)

You might want to try calling and asking again. Like you, I recently decided to make a trip for the F&W Festival. When I first called and requested a studio at OKW for the first week (Mon.-Fri.) of Nov., I was told there was no room. I asked the CM to check the following week's availability. I was put on hold again and when the CM came back, she had some how magically found a studio at OKW for my original date request. Now, not that I'm complaining, but how is that possible that one minute there's no room and the next there is? So don't give up hope. Keep asking.
