Kathy your boss is lucky to have you and should appreciate you and be supportive and patient while you recover and recoup...

Thanks for the pep talk Kayla. Big thing is that during the school year none of my bookkeepers can work day shifts because they're college students. So, if they can't cover the boss and other manager will have to cover. And that doesn't sit well with the boss.

But he's just going to have to deal with it. I'll be glad to talk them through things by phone after the first couple of days and I'm willing to do the schedule as usual but he's going to have to figure the rest out. He's big on not having a problem with it as long as you get it covered yourself - but since I can't do that he's going to have to.

The other front-end manager - the one who was out for a week 'cause she busted her butt says she can only work 4 - close on Mondays and Wednesdays but I happen to know that she only has a class from 2-3:30 on those days. So why can't she open?? She just doesn't want to. I even texted her after I got my appointment that I would need her to open next Wednesday because I have an appointment - she texted back she can open but she can't stay past 10:30. If that's the case, I'll do it myself!

Okay that's it now I am going to bed

I have been so worried about my job and my bosses reaction...until the neurologist talked to me today. Now I don't care. The boss will have to deal with it! I'm not going to take a chance of losing the use of my thumb!!

...really - how else would you possibly be able to hitch-hike to WDW??!?!?

The neurologist spent quite a bit of time talking with me after the NCS. He said that it is an "extremely" severe case and I need to follow-up with my doctor as soon as possible to discuss surgery. He said that I need surgery ASAP to stop the damage, however, he feels as severe as it is the surgery will probably not fix the damage that has already been done...meaning I may have a numb thumb and index finger for life! And he also said that I am very close to the possibility of losing the use of my thumb! I knew it was bad but I never imagined it was as bad as he made it sound.

So, I have an appointment with my doctor next Wednesday.
