Today I have to go to Hickory for an EMG and nerve conduction tests for my arm/wrist. I'm not looking forward to it and I'm nervous. I had this done on both legs a few years ago and I remember it was NOT fun at all!![]()
...HOLY HOGWASH!! Today and tomorrow is school and then I have the WHOLE WEEK OFF next week!!![]()

Good evening!![]()
so how did it go today??
The neurologist spent quite a bit of time talking with me after the NCS. He said that it is an "extremely" severe case and I need to follow-up with my doctor as soon as possible to discuss surgery. He said that I need surgery ASAP to stop the damage, however, he feels as severe as it is the surgery will probably not fix the damage that has already been done...meaning I may have a numb thumb and index finger for life! And he also said that I am very close to the possibility of losing the use of my thumb! I knew it was bad but I never imagined it was as bad as he made it sound.
So, I have an appointment with my doctor next Wednesday.
Hang in there. Everything is going to be Okay.![]()
Hope all goes well with Kathy's tests today![]()

DS wants to audition for AI -LIVE, next year since He'll be 16-and I told him if he does good on the AI Experience I might let him-He's one one who sang with the Atlanta Symphany Orchestra
But I just think trying out for the real show, at such a young age, is not the Best experience in the world![]()
so we'll see how he does with this AI Experience-if he get choosen that is![]()
Well, as far as the EMG that I was dreading 'cause I know (from having it done on my legs) that it can be rather painful - that was great...'cause I didn't have to have it done.
But on the other hand, the results of the nerve conduction study showed that the carpel tunnel is so severe - that's why I didn't have to have the EMG done.

Did you hear about the teacher in Ohio who was arrested for prostitution? She actually arranged to meet her "customer" using her computer at school!![]()
I have been so worried about my job and my bosses reaction...until the neurologist talked to me today. Now I don't care. The boss will have to deal with it! I'm not going to take a chance of losing the use of my thumb!!
