Too bad! I'm going to share anyway. :lmao:

After the entire nation voted yesterday (mandatory vote here over the age of 18) and a whole night of ballot box counting, the result is.....

we don't know which party will be governing Australia! We have two major parties here - the Liberals and the Labour party; and then a couple of minor parties and anyone can stand as an Independent. Not sure how it translates to your Democrats and Conversatives; but the Labour party favours Unionism and the Liberals favour Big Business and Capitalism.

For the first time in 70 years, we could have a hung parliament. A major rule would mean that one party or the other has won 76 seats in parliament. This morning, the count was Liberals think they have won 72 seats; Labour think they have won 71 seats. There are 3 seats too close to call. There is also 1 Green Party member and 4 Independents. We still have to wait until all the postal votes come in...but it may well be that the governance of Australia lies in the hands of the 1 Green Party member and the 4 Independents!

Interesting times ahead! popcorn::

Sure! I'm just making dinner right now. I burnedthe heck out of my wrist :(

OUCH!! How's the wrist? Are you running it under cold water or putting a cold pack on it?

Why am I even asking these questions....you should KNOW this better than me :lmao:!

Okay. I'm on my way out. Have fun all....

Ruthie - Hope to see you on line again!
Dana - Look after that burn and your wrist. Enjoy your dinner!

The burn on my wrist isn't as bad as I thought it was. It still hurts, but not as much as it did earlier. It looks kinda like a hook :lmao: What happened was that I was making the Pop fried chicken from the Cooking with Mickey cookbook, but I was using our deep fryer pot. The chicken got stuck to the basket and when I tried to pull it out with some tongs, the basket got away from me and splashed into the oil, which then splashed me. More oil got on the counter than on me, thankfully. I ran it under cold water while waiting for the oil in the pan to heat up, since I wasn't about to keep using the deep fryer and then put some aloe vera on it. Once that dried, I put a triple antibiotic cream on it, since it was the only thing my dad had that said it was good for burns. After that, more aloe vera, and then I rested my soda can on it for a while :lmao: So, yeah, it doesn't hurt as much anymore.

And to top it off, by the time the chicken was done, the mashed potatoes were cold, the biscuits were burned, and the chicken wasn't even crispy :guilty:

Hope you're all having a good night!

Hi everyone,

Sharon you have me confused with your political system, I thought you were going to be voting on a recall on your homophobic prime minister! :lmao:

Dana, sorry to hear about your burn, that's one reason I don't deal with deep frying.

We spent today working on getting the nice apartment ready for rent. I climbed up and down that darned ladder sanding, spackling and getting touch up spots ready for painting. My feet hurt so bad, we were going to cook sloppy joes for dinner, but Fran was so nice and let us pick up take out from one of our favorite "coffee shops" and we got a whole peach pie.

Tomorrow we play open house and finish fixing up things up. Well start on finishing things up....I hope we rent this place quick and start getting some more money coming in. We just found out that Apt #2 needs a new heater, we have a couple months, but that's another $3000! :scared1:

We found a loan consultant who is highly recomended so hopefully he will get us some money so we can get these units rehabbed. I'm guessing it's going to cost us somewhere in the neighborhood of $30,000 to get these two remaining units ready to go, not to mention the new heater and repainting another tennants enamel, yikes! I'm not sure I like property management! I've only been introduced to the harsh reality of it in the last 3-4 years....

Oh well, tomorrow is a new day...

Which prime minister was this again? Oh wait....everyone of them! :rotfl2::rotfl2:
