I'm sort of here, I had to go cold turkey yesterday and not check anything because I had some serious work to catch up on, so today, I'm just trying to catch up on what I missed yesterday! Fran's knee surgery is less than two weeks away, so we ahve a major crunch to get everything done before then. Plus we have a patriotic concert this weekend, and we are hosting a party Saturday night after the concert, grilling burgers and potluck for about 40 people. :scared1: I haven't done that in years, so lots of clean up and prep!

Ah, okay :) I'm just bored and kinda lonely :lmao: That's a lot of people for a barbecue. I don't think we've had that many people over since my dad's 50th birthday, so I really don't envy the clean-up you're going to have :( What kind of knee surgery is your DP having? My best friend is more than likely going to have some sort of surgery on her knee sometime soon, which is why I'm asking.

:hug:

I'm on line; sort of. I spent the day in the city taking shots for that dang addictive summer scavenger hunt on the photography subforum. Will probably be spending some time downloading and working out which ones to post...

But I'll need to consider dinner for the boys at some stage. Think takeaway pizza might have to pass muster tonight.

Sounds like fun! Oddly enough, I ordered pizza for delivery, too. What kind are you thinking about ordering?

Also, I'm probably going to be down at WDW in late October :) I sort of maybe possibly made dining reservations tonight :rolleyes1 There's almost no way that we'll be going in January if Jacquie has her knee surgery, which I'm sure she'll be having, so I started planning for October. :cheer2:

:flower3::flower3::flower3:

:cheer2::cheer2:

We'll probably do a marinara/cheese pizza and an olive/anchovy one.

Thunderbirds are a possible go for October for me too!!! :cool1:
DH's work has said that he should go to San Francisco for the Thursday and Friday after the conference. So my equation is now fly 2 days for 3 days at WDW, and 3 days in San Francisco. If I can arrange the leave, we would be away for 8 days.

What dining reservations did you make?

I ordered enough pizza for me to snack on it for the rest of the week, since I'm tired of cooking :lmao: I got a pepperoni lover's and a pepperoni and sausage.

I've extended my trip so that it's 24-29, so I may be hitting up MNSSHP twice, if I decide I want to. These are my reservations, and I'm gonna do the basic dining plan.

10/24 - Crystal Palace - 6:35pm
10/25 - Sci-Fi - 6:15pm
10/26 - LTT - 5:20pm (I figured this would be pre-party, so it's for four people :teeth: )
10/27 - Rose and Crown - 5:35pm
10/28 - Crystal Palace - 8:10am

LTT sounds great! Might be you, me and Ruthie. DH has conference dinner; but keep it as 4.

I think I'm gonna have to hit MNSSHP twice myself. DH won't be able to go on Tuesday; so he's gonna have to do Sunday night...

I'm gonna have to lock my annual leave dates in at work first; but this won't be till Tuesday next week.

Well, I figured it'd be easier to find a table for four than it would be for three in the reservation system, even though they'd stick us at a table for four anyway :rolleyes1 Plus, I have some friends who still work down there, so one of them may want to join us for dinner.

I'm not sure what days I'd do the party, aside from Tuesday. It's three of the nights that I'd be there :lmao:

I could probably put in my vacation request now, but I have a feeling it'd get lost before October, so I'm going to wait until early September to put the request in. I'm going to put the deposit down for the trip on Friday (it's almost 3am Thursday morning) and buy my airfare sometime next month, since I'm almost positive that we won't be going in January.

Okay. So I'll probably wait till next week (after I get approval for my annual leave) before changing my might not to a "It might not be a 'might not' PTR afterall". Then planning will start in earnest. I think I'm going to plan this trip to be a "see where the wind blows" thing....might make a change from all those other dedicated plan to the eyeball PTRs. Besides, I already did that last time and I don't think I can go through another trip like that! :rotfl2:

:lmao: the only things I really plan are my dinner reservations and what park I'm going to be at on what day. Everything else is pretty much like you said, go where the wind blows. I'm waiting until I book my airfare before I start a PTR for this trip, since that's the only thing I can't cancel and get a refund on. I'm so excited now :teeth: Instead of six months, I'll be down there in just under four! :cheer2:

Well I never said Barbeque, actually I have a tailgate grill that we will be pulling out...this is at my FILs place, he died in Dec, so we have taken over his house for rehearsals, meetings and now parties because our house is to congested to have people at. I really don't know how many will be there, but at Tuesday band I asked for a show of hands and got about 30 people, so I'm expecting about 40. Good news is I have some friends who have offered to do the "take care of guests before you arrive thing". Our friends Jim and Alberto are wonderful and Alberto loves to prep for parties, so he's going to be there while the concert is going on and will get everything ready. At the last couple rehearsals he wrapped the plastic utensils in napkins in little paks. :lmao: I love gay guys, they are so meticulous! And I mean that in the most loving sort of way!

On July 12, Fran will have a total knee replacement. She has really bad RA and evidently both her kness have terrible bone spurs so they are doing the worst one first and will do the next one in several months once she feels better. She had her hip done last October, so hopefully after all these surgieries she will be the bionic woman and we'll go al all kinds of rides and be all better! Until then, it's lots of pain pills and screaming!

:hug: for you Alison. You must be an angel to be looking after Fran when she is in pain!

I'm 90% sure that I'll be there in October. If my best friend has her surgery this summer, there's no way she can afford that AND the trip in January. So we decided to postpone it if she has the surgery. So n started planning thing I can cancel if it turns out that she won't be having it, but I'm positive that she will. She's needed it done for years.

But yeah, the dates I'm looking at are 10/24-10/29.

:)

Good morning!

I won't know for sure until I submit my request for annual leave, which I will do on Tuesday and then look at the airfares. I'm also about 75% sure I'm going. Given what Firefly is doing and DH schedule for the conference, I think it would be safe to assume that if I were there, I'd be looking at attending MNSSHP for both the Sunday 24 Oct and Tuesday 26 October.

Sunday - because that's the only night that DH can go; and Tuesday because it looks like the 3 of us are having dinner at LTT. :rotfl2:

Ah, okay :) My mind tends to automatically link summer parties with barbecue, since that's what we usually do :lmao: That's good that you have a little bit of help with some of the prep, though. That always helps when you're planning something big like that.

That sucks that her knees are so bad, but at least they're getting taken care of, right? Jacquie's needed her knee looked at for years, but never had the insurance to cover it. I hope Fran has a quick and easy recovery :hug: I know, that's hoping for a lot :lmao:
