what have you been up to?? How is school?? things we need to know!!!

(nice to see you around the ltp boards jake)

Me, I haven't been up to anything. School is school. I have like 150some days until graduation, and it can't come soon enough. I plan on going to WVU next year for landscape architecture at the moment. I haven't gone SCUBA diving in over a year, and I really want to badly. Umm...and thats about it. Oh, and I just got done fighting a battle against a nasty computer virus. Well, McAfee did the fighting, but I'm just glad its gone.

:flower3: Hello everyone! I haven't been here in a while...but I got a wonderful Christmas card from Kathy (I think she was wondering if I was still alive...yep, so far I am still kicking! :rotfl2: ) I hope everyone is doing well...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

We had a busy 2008...My DH got a promotion and he travels more...but we have been surviving and he enjoys the new job (and we didn't have to move :goodvibes ). We traveled a lot this year...but no Disney :sad1: Twice we followed DH to conferences, once to Vegas (we hit Arizona and the Grand Canyon first) and once to Utah. We also went to Washington/Oregon/California on a road trip with my family and survived. Then, went back to Vegas for a good friends' wedding...and finally to the Island of Hawaii to see the active volcano. My son is into geology now...so after a busy 2008, we probable won't go far in 2009....DS is still into sporsts and DD started ballet...we expanded our farm some. My job is still okay....I am limiting going online at work...and if I do only to news' sites....trying to be better ;) umm, not much else going on with us...just the usual sick kids, cleaning, working and living. Hugs to everyone :grouphug:

Lyn - I'm so glad to see that you checked in with us and gave us an update!!! Please check in more often and don't make me send you a card just to get you to log on here! :rotfl:

Evening Everyone! :wave2:

WOW! What a week-Christmas and then DS leaving to return to the Navy in Guam on the 27th(after traveling 23hrs-he finally landed)-plus working like a every other day during it all-I'm exhausted

Any ways I Hope and Pray that Everyone had a Merry Merry Christmas! :santa:

I'm sure it was hard to see DS leaving again!

We'll be back to keeping him in our thoughts and prayers!

Evening all...just stopping by on my way to bed. Tomorrow is the last day of work this week! :cool1:

Must be nice! I haven't had a day off since Christmas day! (Some days have been short days but I still had to go in!) And I'm not off again until Friday! But I do at least have Friday, Saturday and Sunday off!

I for one am going to be glad to see 2008 over and am looking forward to a new year!

This past week has not been one of our better weeks:

DH woke up Sunday morning with a stomach virus!

A.J. woke up in the middle of the night, Tuesday morning at 2 a.m., with the stomach virus!

Matthew woke up Tuesday morning at 6 a.m. with the stomach virus!

And we only have one bathroom!

Monday afternoon DD called me. She was having car trouble again. (This after DH and I paid over $750 last month to get her car fixed for her!) She called the mechanic and got an appointment for Tuesday morning. Tuesday she couldn't even get it started and ended up having it towed up here - again! Mechanic decided it was a relay switch. Thinks he got it fixed. I met her and her DH at the mechanic's, paid the bill (of course :headache: ) and then we went to lunch. We didn't even want her to come by the house with everyone being sick. After lunch she headed back to Charlotte. Got about 40 miles from here and her front tire blew - while she was going 65 miles per hour. She was so lucky that she didn't wreck! She called me all upset. Front tire was gone and the spare was flat! Get this - she wanted me to "google" where she was by the mile marker number to see if it would be better for them to start walking ahead or go back! Uh, hello, you have AAA you ditz! (DD has never been the brightest crayon in the box - - - very smart, but no common sense)! So, she called AAA. They aren't equipped to put air in the spare - but they'll gladly tow her wherever she needs to go. So she decided to have them tow her home! :rotfl: There is a tire store right across the street from their apartment and she's dealt with them before so rather than going somewhere where she didn't know their reputation she had them tow her there! Another 60 miles of sitting in a tow truck! Luckily we have AAA gold which provides 100 miles free per occurence. It was $60 to have her towed up here and free for the tow back to Charlotte. Then, of course, I get the phone call - "How am I going to pay for a new tire?" How do you think it got paid for!

We did have a "chat" yesterday and I told her this was the end of the help.

Graduation, already.

You need to move to Florida where you can scuba drive year round.

Wow. You have had the week from you know where.

It is going to be hard, but she needs to stand on her own two feet.

Hope everyone is feeling better.

Happy New Years Eve everyone.

Hoping everyone has a Happy Healthy 2009.:dance3:

Moving to Florida does sounds nice...but as much as I'm getting tired of people around here (at school, not at home), 3 hours from home is enough for me. THere is a lake up by WVU that hopefully I could dive in on the weekends.

Also, that sounds like quite and adventure with the car fixes and tire problem. Hopefully it will turn out well.
