I for one am going to be glad to see 2008 over and am looking forward to a new year!
This past week has not been one of our better weeks:
DH woke up Sunday morning with a stomach virus!
A.J. woke up in the middle of the night, Tuesday morning at 2 a.m., with the stomach virus!
Matthew woke up Tuesday morning at 6 a.m. with the stomach virus!
And we only have one bathroom!
Monday afternoon DD called me. She was having car trouble again. (This after DH and I paid over $750 last month to get her car fixed for her!) She called the mechanic and got an appointment for Tuesday morning. Tuesday she couldn't even get it started and ended up having it towed up here - again! Mechanic decided it was a relay switch. Thinks he got it fixed. I met her and her DH at the mechanic's, paid the bill (of course

) and then we went to lunch. We didn't even want her to come by the house with everyone being sick. After lunch she headed back to Charlotte. Got about 40 miles from here and her front tire blew - while she was going 65 miles per hour. She was so lucky that she didn't wreck! She called me all upset. Front tire was gone and the spare was flat! Get this - she wanted me to "google" where she was by the mile marker number to see if it would be better for them to start walking ahead or go back! Uh, hello, you have
AAA you ditz! (DD has never been the brightest crayon in the box - - - very smart, but no common sense)! So, she called AAA. They aren't equipped to put air in the spare - but they'll gladly tow her wherever she needs to go. So she decided to have them tow her home!

There is a tire store right across the street from their apartment and she's dealt with them before so rather than going somewhere where she didn't know their reputation she had them tow her there! Another 60 miles of sitting in a tow truck! Luckily we have AAA gold which provides 100 miles free per occurence. It was $60 to have her towed up here and free for the tow back to Charlotte. Then, of course, I get the phone call - "How am I going to pay for a new tire?" How do you think it got paid for!
We did have a "chat" yesterday and I told her this was the end of the help.
