no, really, I am eating Popcorn right now.....
Charlotte was, well, Charlotte! I hate Charlotte! I feel just like the little country mouse travelling to the big city!
DD and I did have a very nice day together.
I took her and her DH to lunch at Red Lobster. Then we went to the mall. I know they have been having a really rough time with money (or rather lack of it) lately so I wanted to treat her to a new outfit for her birthday. We went all over the mall and she just really didn't seem too interested in shopping for clothes. She would just look and then suggest we go somewhere she knew I wanted to go (Bath & Body Works, craft stores, etc.). I got her some goodies at Bath and Body Works - hit a good sale so naturally I had to get some for me too!
Then we went to their apartment. First time I had seen this one. I visited for a while and then told them I had to head home. As I was saying good-bye I told DD that I was sorry that she hadn't been able to find an outfit that she wanted and that I owed her one! Then she said that she really wasn't unappreciative about the outfit...then she teared up and looked sad. I asked her what was wrong and she said she was embarrassed to tell me. Then she said that it was really hard to shop for an outfit and spend any money on clothes (her money or mine) when they don't have hardly any food!
I walked to the kitchen and looked. There was almost nothing!
So, off to the grocery store we went!!! We filled an entire cart, top and bottom. She was so excited! I hate that it had gotten to that point for her before she said anything but I'm glad I was able to help her out. She said it was the best present she could've gotten!

I guess I should've read back before my other post!
Glad you had a great time!
DHS? Can't figure that one out.![]()
Fairly good day overall. We've got inventory Wednesday so it's a little stressful.
I have to share a "situation" that we had a work today. A woman comes up to the service desk in a panic. Her purse was stolen out of her cart. We ask if she wants us to call the police. She asks if we can look around for it first. One manager stays at the door to make sure no one leaves with it. The other manager and I check the restrooms first (common place for someone to dump a wallet or purse after taking the cash). No purse. Then we start searching the store. I got called back up front for something and then she tells me she wants me to call the police, so I do. I stay at the front door and the other two managers keep searching the store, on their hands and knees in places looking under shelving. One started at one side of the store and the other started and the other side of the store. The police get there, two officers - two patrol cars parked at the front door of the store. The one officer goes to check the restrooms (I guess he didn't feel we knew what we were doing.) and then he catches up with the store manager and they talk for a minute or so. The other officer takes the report. He got the entire report filled out - about ten minutes of getting all the details. He asks her where her purse was. She says in the cart, in the part where a child would sit. She shows him her cart and points to where her purse was. Then she says, wait a minute - someone also took the two bottles of wine that I had in my cart!
And wait, someone put tomatoes in my cart - I didn't get any tomatoes. Okay, being the cunning detective that I am I walked away and started checking for a cart with her purse in it or an abandoned cart! And what do you know...I FOUND HER CART, WITH HER PURSE IN IT! (Towards the middle of the store where we hadn't gotten to yet looking for it.) She had evidently turned to get an item, and then turned around and put that item in another cart and walked off with someone else's cart!

OMG was she embarrassed when I walked up front pushing that cart! Everything was still in her purse. It was even open with her keys and wallet sitting right there on the top! Good thing we live in a safe area!
