The past couple of morning and evening have been beautiful here. Real fall weather. No humidity and you could feel a cool breeze. They say it won't last thru the weekend but it sure was nice for a change.

Hey everybody,

Hope all is well.


We have had crazy things around here the last few weeks!!! If only the DIS was a little easier to access from my phone, I could have caught up faster!!!

last week when we had the remains of IKE, we had massive flooding and loss of electircity for almost a week. My house was not flooded, we had some seepage, but not much water-- we were lucky, we had just installed back up power and new sumps on both of our sumps, also over the summer DH had dug up 6 inches of dirt around the foundation and put in gravel to help with drainage so it did help a bit. Others in our area were not so lucky, some of the houses closer to the lake or river were actually demolished because they had so much water.

School (normal people call it work) has been crazy!! Since the first day of school on 9/2 we have not had the same bus company for dropping off or picking up our students with special needs, and it has been a WRECK!!! I wish I had control over it, but I don't and it is frustrating. I spend a lot of time in front of the school with a clip board writing which bus, who was on it, and what time it came/left..... Glad I get paid the big bucks to do this

This week so far the weather has been good. We have been dry, rivers and lakes are going back to normal levels, and the weather has been nice and not humid. -- keeping fingers crossed that this will continue.

Now I'll need to get reading and see what's up with the LTP'ers......

I am off today! It's a good thing 'cause I don't need another rushing around, late day like yesterday and Monday! Last night was earlier than Monday, though. I got home at 10:30! Got off work, rushed home and fixed dinner, went to the monthly business meeting at the fire department, after the meeting DH and I went to pick up my van from the mechanics and then I went on a gas hunt. Most of the stations are out of gas around here. But I found gas - at the 4th station! Then I got home around 10:30!

Today I'm heading to TN with my friend for some shopping (gotta get some stuff for decorating our door on the cruise ) and hitting Red Lobster for their endless shrimp!

I'll have to keep reading, but I hope you got your gas (the car kind) and shrimp too!!!

Ours isn't so much the price as being able to find it. I was lucky to be able to fill up last night and it was only $3.87 a gallon. Wow! Did I just say ONLY $3.87 a gallon!

WOW!!


Ours is down to $4.29 a gallon by my house and $4.40 in the city. When we drove down to FL in August we were happy to pay $3.80's or so how silly we are, because I am sure last year I would have said something like... "I'LL never pay $4 for gas!!!" how quickly things change!!!

I do admit it is easier to access on mobil devices, and with out power it was nice to have contact with people, but I enjoy my DIS Friends more!!!
