We haven't had any rain in over 3 weeks-just sunny and warm everyday-but it is getting a bit parched looking everywhere

That's the way it was here until we got this rain this week. It's been very dreary - but we needed the rain!

It is terrible here too - crisis point! DD said that in Charlotte people are sleeping in their cars in line at stations just waiting until the stations get deliveries. We are lucky that we are so close to TN because TN is not having as much of a problem as NC is. So, as long as we have enough gas in our vehicles to get over to TN hopefully we'll be okay. We've got both of our vehicles full now!

Scary that it is reaching so many people

Yes, it's very scary. And Friday at work was like what we call a "snow rush!" We were slammed ALL day! People had gone out to get gas and then stopped to get groceries so they didn't have to come back out again! It was unreal!

I remember sitting in gas lines with my parents in the 70's

So do I! (We're showing our age!)

And down in FL I remember there was a time when you could only get gas on certain days - based on your tag #!

Okay so my heart is pumping now

I was sitting here typing and visiting with Erica when suddenly my front door opens and I hear " Helloooooooooo Anyone home"

I jump up ( still in my PJ's) and run to the door to keep my Dogs from going at the guy (which I realized later they weren't doing which is WEIRD)

I told the guy SHUT THE DOOR

so he does and then I go out on the porch to see what is up

a nice old Gent Lost his way looking for his son in laws house

he said maybe I could help him the house is the same color as mine with a tree down UMMM Sorry I need a bit more to go on......

He asked me to call his "lady friend" to get more directions so I did and sent him on his way with her words "tell John to drive slow it's foggy out"

the really freaky part.........
why I think my Dogs didn't go crazy


The guy looked like he could be my grandfathers brother even had the same walk
He drove an Identical truck to my Mom's (which was my grandfathers before he died)

Just a freaky way to start the morning

oh and my grandfather NEVER knocked on any door just walked in yelling
"Hellooooooooo Anyone Home??"

You remembered!

If the weather clears (it's rained since Thursday morning - but it's supposed to be nice today) we're going to take the boat back to the lake and go out for the afternoon. We've had the boat at home for 3 weeks. Brought it home to clean it up really well and then haven't had time to get back. We were going to go back last Saturday and that's when DH got called out for that manhunt.

I'm going to bake myself a birthday cake in a few minutes. I'm in the mood for a home-made carrot cake. DH and the boys said they would make me a cake but I told them they could do dinner and I'd make the cake! We're having ribs and mashed 'taters and baked beans and corn on the cob for dinner!

We had a GREAT day yesterday. The day was a bit long, driving over first thing in the morning and staying all day until closing of Epcott than the drive home.

And we are going back next weekend so all is good.
