I hope all the LTP moms had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday! I certainly did! DH and the boys cooked breakfast and dinner and some stuff in between! I was so stuffed - it seems like all we did was eat all day! :lmao:

Matthew gave me his gift yesterday morning....and I cried!! He made a wooden sign that says "Happy Mother's Day." It's on a piece of oak about 3 feet long and he had sanded it and then used a router to carve the words. On the back he put all three of the boys names and the date.

Andrew acted a little weird that I was so thrilled with Matthew's gift and he said he wanted to give me mine later, in private. So I was kind of thinking maybe he had made me a card and thought that it wasn't as great as Matthew's gift so he was a little embarassed. Well, he gave me his gift later in the afternoon when DH and the other two were outside. OMG!!! It was beautiful. He had written a "song" in school for me. And then in his computer class his teacher had helped him take a close up phote of just his face and he enlarged it to 8X10 and softened the colors and used that as the paper he printed his song on! The song was to me and one of the lines was "I would gladly lay down my life for you if it would give you even one more day!" He's a very sentimental-type kid, but very quiet. I was just so shocked!

And A.J made a card for me - by himself! (With a little help from Andrew for the spelling! ;) )

Anyway, it was such a nice day!!!!!!!

 ...oh great! How am I gonna explain to my students next period the smeared, running mascara....??!?!?

Nice Story Kathy!! Very Nice :)

Everyone in my house forgot it was Mother's day-if you can believe that:sad1: I couldn't believe it!!! And I worked all weekend so no big day for me,Oh well gotta love those teenage years-as for DH He claims he didn't forget the day- just to get a card-Whatever :sad2:

DS in the Navy did call-he was a wee bit intoxicated and very happy-so that was a nice thing!! focusing on the positive

Well I'm getting a llittle tired-I came home to a torn up Kitchen with dirty dishes everywhere:mad:

So I washed dishes and pans and ran the dishwasher and cleaned and cleaned-so much fun-so time for me to get a little sleep-I'll check back later :wave2:

Oh well what's a girl to do :confused3

well I was gone all weekend and came home to a printed note from the boys.

dh had written a letter on the computer and each kid got a little paragraph that they dictated to dh.

oh well, at least they put it where I could find it! :rotfl:

Liz glad to hear you had a Great time-and at least it sounded like a nice note from your boys!!! :thumbsup2

Pretty quiet around here-and still absolutely no word about Kev :sad2:

Hey guys

Still no kevin huh??

weird

Kim sorry about your mothers day but I totally feel for you
I worked all day

The kids said Happy Mothers Day but that was it
and DH didn't do anything.

Oh well I guess it is just another day right?

I try not to expect too much from those holidays. That way I am not disappointed when things don't pan out the way I think they should.

We had a B-day party to go to yesterday and on my b-day will be coming home from Delray Beach. My nephews graduations from High School. Nothing special will be done.

Just another day.

DH used to forget or just not get a card - his excuse used to be "you're not my mother!" But as the boys have gotten older he remembers a lot better! ;)

Sorry - but I had to laugh at this part of your post! DD called me at 12:15 a.m. Mother's Day morning. (YES, that's A.M.!!!) She was surprised when I answered - she said she was expecting to just get my voice mail. She said she wanted to be the first to wish me a Happy Mother's Day! And she was past the point of being a "wee bit" intoxicated!
