I just page turned on 3 different threads in a space of 2 minutes! :lmao: This one had better NOT be a page turner post.

I assume you don't hold it against people if they were cake decorators or waitresses before making it into the job they wanted???

Hmmmmmmmmm

:snooty:

No....only soap opera stars....

..and don't get snooty on me. We all have our prejudices...I know mine and am happy to acknowledge them! :goodvibes

No I turned the page. Thats my job here. I dont even get paid. Whats wrong with this issue? :rotfl2:

I'm fine. They boys are chomping at the bit to go get dinner. Last minute decision to eat out...we're going to the local Japanese. Might catch you later...?

PIO has recently revealed she was a cake decorator...just a little prod...... :rolleyes1

I don't do work without getting paid.............hang on................yes I do
It's called unpaid overtime.....sigh....

My Sweet Potato is baking in the oven. Won't get that crispy part from oil/fat but it is healthier...and better than boiling...

I trust we will get food porn from Japanese??? I don't eat the raw stuff but I don't mind some Japanese.

:teeth:
At the restaurant now. I didn't bring my camera so no food porn tonight. I'm doing a bento box with chicken teriyaki. I do have some pics at home from when I took a pic of eggroll. Didn't I sharethat?

Not a fan of egg rolls...the casing is too thick. It's the main thing I hate about Chinese food in the USA. Much prefer Spring Rolls. Which I'm yet to find there.
But I LOVE Teriyaki!!

Cooked the potato for about an hour. Crisped up nicely some of the pieces. Didn't season at all. Just au naturel on baking paper. Love Sweet Potato

Those are actually Japanese Harumaki from the shop around the corner from me. Casing is Aussie style and fantastically light.

I like the eggrolls at Cheesecake Factory. Not sure what kind of Chinese food you're ordering in the US or where....but it's all about what you order. I guess I tend to stick with the Chinese food that is either stir-fried or steamed.

Glad you liked the sweet potato. Did you find the "just bung it in the oven" style of cooking easy?

I always prefer steamed or stir-fried. [sadly my brother still like things fried]
But as soon as you get a 'package' at all they include eggrolls. I NEVER order an eggroll as even at a lovely restaurant we went to in Atlanta (complete with screaming Chinese across the room)....all the same awful casing :(

I always prefer bung it in the oven :lmao: I'm incredibly lazy!!!

Even when I go to yum cha in Oz, I rarely get anything fried. I'm guessing that you're brother and I.....never the twain shall meet over preferred Chinese food. :lmao:

You know - he actually posted on my TR. Albeit to answer a question for someone else....but I had no idea he was even lurking!

eeekk....now you know why I stay away from there

I was brought up with the very westernised Chinese food. My fav was always Lemon Chicken. I think because although fried...it wasn't balls like sweet and sour or honey...but pieces...
I did start turning more and more away from fried and more stir fried. Steamed dim sim vs fried myself...
Over the past 4 years my uni friends have been introducing me to more things. Noodle soups, more varieties in dumplings etc...but although working for a Chinese boss and being taken to good Chinese restaurants....my brother is a beef and black bean and Mongolian Lamb man...
