Moaning all...

Hope you get the job Dana

It is nice of him to be willing to call another store too...but hopefully you'll get the job ::yes::

I hope I do, too! :yay: But we shall see :teeth: Since there's no way it can get there in time (no mail on Sundays and Monday's a holiday, so no mail), should I send a thank-you note? Or should I just send one after, if he does call the other store?

Okay....this is a little rushed because we need to head out for the afternoon but here are my cannelloni pictures.

No starting ingredients....I really must have been sick last night!

Started with a layer of tomato sauce at the bottom and then placed the cannelloni on top.

Then I completely smothered the cannelloni with more sauce.

I then made some bechamel sauce and poured the whole lot over the dish.

And because DS likes a little pasta with his cheese, I put a little bit more cheese on top.

Here's what it looked like out of the oven.

I served it with cabbage and bacon as a side instead of salad last night.

And just before I scoffed the whole lot up....my dinner!

Enjoy!

Running out the door LAST!

Yum! That would probably work with Tuna steaks as well.

You're right it probably would.

Not a fan or Swordfish or tuna...but in principal that looked nice Alison.
I'm a Barramundi, Dory, Perch kinda gal....

I got the recipe from the Food Network show Barefoot Contessa, she used it on chicken, but said that the marinade originally came from a swordfish recipe. I think it could be used on quite a few different types of fish/meat.

I don't know that I've had Barramundi, Dory (isn't she a character in Nemo? :scared1:) or Perch, except the Barramundi I had at the F&W Festival in Epcot. I wasn't so impressed with their preparation. My parents went to Australia on a group tour (2 weeks) and every night they had a choice...steak or barramundi, after that they will never eat barramundi again. My mom said she has had a lifetime of barramundi! :lmao:

Wow PIO! That looks really yummy! I'd rather have that than what I'm about to fix up for dinner, we're having tacos, chips & guacamole, and Texas Caviar.

It's a cold salad that they serve at the deli at Ralphs, mainly black eyed peas, some tomatoes, onions, peppers and other veggies.

We're trying to avoid rice, noodles, potatoes and other hugely carbohydrated things. With the trips to DC and WDW I gained almost 20 lbs in the last 2 months and Fran isn't fitting in lots of her pants. She got all mad at me for serving desserts, side dishes and other stuff, but when we went to a special dinner the other night she chastized me for not grabbing a second cookie off the platters when they were offering "goodbye" cookies. :confused3

Yeah, my mom does that, too. She doesn't like it when I overeat, but she's the one who tells me to eat a second helping, or to make a cake or brownies.

Barramundi is quite a dry fish with a very distinct (although not 'fishy') flavour. As much as I love it it isn't something I'd want every night. The best I had was cooked in foil on a small portable BBQ in The Bungle Bungles in WA (you can google it)

Dory is a smallish fish with a beautiful smooth and soft flavour. The used that name fir the character. Just like Nemo's dad is Marlin (also a type of fish).

Perch would possibly be my fav and I could certainly have it more often than Barra. Again a smallish fish.

Hoki and Ling are popular and cheaper 'typical' fish.

I think the only big fish I like is Mahi Mahi. Although they over cooked it in Coral Reef at WDW. I was very unimpressed for the price. I had some in QLD much better for less.

I don't even know which fishes are big or small since I buy them all as filets in the grocery store! :lmao:

Mahi Mahi is another one of my favorites, but I like snapper, tilapia and sea bass, but it is soooo darned expensive as is halibut. I really wish I liked salmon...I've tried but just don't seem to like it.

I love dessert and try to do a balance between main meal and it. But my mum usually does oversize servings. She's always offering food and if I say no. I inevitably get told off for snapping. Ugh. Even when I only ate something an hour before.

She has a stuffed circadian rhythm getting up too early in the morning while I sleep In on weekends. So while she may have had breakfast many hours ago. I didn't.

I'm as much my worse enemy but it also doesn't help when she buys too much in the 'treat' department and rather than it go to waste I end up eating too much.

I'm just not the world's biggest fan of fish :lmao:

It's all to do with what's 'local'. But you can tell big and small from the size of the fillets. The US I notice eat more big fish. So maybe that is why you don't notice...as they're all much the same.

I don't eat much fish as it is expensive :headache: but I do try to as it is good for you.

Lol Dana. I get it. I'm not a big eater if fish....but I just know what I like so when I fork out the money for it I know I'll like it. :thumbsup2

BTW - Good for you trying to cut out the carbs Alison. I'm terrible ... I'm so addicted to carbs.
