LAST-TO-POST #13 Calling all Posting Gals and Guys of the Lasting Kind.....

I would love to visit the land down under. I have not been fortunate as of yet to do so. But hopefully one day soon.
My father loved to visit Australia, Alice, Uluru and other areas as well. When he was young, he worked on the railroads in Australia.
He was born and raised in Austria. Then went to Australia. Then eventually came to America.
Over the years, he had purchased a boomerang from one of his visits. He also bought, in America a didjeridu. Which he practiced. It is authentic Australian. Not some cheap thing made elsewhere. He bought it here, so he would not have to pack it or lug it about.

You're right it probably would.

I got the recipe from the Food Network show Barefoot Contessa, she used it on chicken, but said that the marinade originally came from a swordfish recipe. I think it could be used on quite a few different types of fish/meat.

I don't know that I've had Barramundi, Dory (isn't she a character in Nemo? :scared1:) or Perch, except the Barramundi I had at the F&W Festival in Epcot. I wasn't so impressed with their preparation. My parents went to Australia on a group tour (2 weeks) and every night they had a choice...steak or barramundi, after that they will never eat barramundi again. My mom said she has had a lifetime of barramundi! :lmao:

I missed this post earlier....you know....if you checked before you went....you can get Barramundi at Walt's Wharf! I had a really good recommendation to go to Walt's Wharf last year....and it was great! :lmao:

Why do you ask?

Just wondering if I should think about heading in there if you were going to pay them a visit. It's your fault that I'm even in there as much as I am because of that retrospective TR! And what do I get for the effort? Near universal silence from the unappreciating crowd!

You're just mean

:confused3

And Kimmar would think that the "p.s. uncooked bacon shot" I posted was mean. She just doesn't get middle bacon...it's streaky bacon or nothing!

Do you know she was calling it Kangaroo bacon to the point that some of her followers in her UNFINISHED (hear that Kimmar....unfinished....still) TR really thought it was made from Kangaroo meat??? :rotfl2:

Not sure about the question, but if it is for me, the other lands are like a desert. It seems to only be me out there. Maybe if anything partly for it being Memorial Day Weekend. I know I don't get to go anywhere anytime soon. Although I was thinking about a road trip, maybe along I 5, and blog about it. I don't have a blog though, but would start one. I have to wait of course until I have better funding for said trip. Gasoline is still over 4 dollars a gallon.

Still up?

I wonder how much your dad paid for the Didge in the US..

We were referring to the Other Lands section on the Dis...but this works for me as well. :lmao:

I've gone up from California all the way into Canada...maybe not all the way on the I5 but we saw a number of the National Parks going all the way up.

$4 a gallon? Well now....your gasoline prices are NEARLY akin to ours. Gasoline is selling for about $1.30 per litre....that's close to $5 a gallon.

I don't remember how much it was. But I believe it was in the hundreds. My father died almost two years ago now. You know it is interesting, on Oct. 19th 2009 that marked the first anniversary of his death. That was also when I lost the site that I had been working at for but another thankless client and security company. Ironic isn't? There are just so many sleazy people that are either clients of security companies or the security co itself is the sleaze ball. there is one very part time job that I had, where the companies owner hired me, but his (I would really like to say hippo, because she is) wife got rid of me. Interesting.... see a pattern here or what? And it is not good. I really should burn my stupid lame yada yada guard card. It should burn very easily, for it is really cheap paper, because our state is essentially bankrupt.

If I were you, I would keep the card....you never know when you really really need the paper for kindling in California....

...and I would stay in bed all day for Oct 19, 2011.....

But perhaps not. Isn't the rescheduled Rapture on Oct 21, 2011??

5 dollars a gallon? Oh my! and :faint: I would hate to run out when visiting the outback.
Did anyone see Walkabout? That is a very good film, well minus the dad blowing up his car, and the Aborigine killing himself. OK then the walkabout lost out in the well outback. It stars Jenny Agutter.

Giselle - It's dinner time here at LAST!

Hope to catch you again some time; if not after dinner. If I don't see your light on, good night and sleep well.

Not sure about the rescheduling of the Rapture. But hopefully it will not take place until after Halloween. I love that season.

What? You don't type while noshing? I do. But then I have no family. It is sad..... sigh...

See you all later then ..... in the mean time, yes.... the soft glow OK not so soft from my lap top is on.....

Oh and that bacon looked really good. And I am relieved to know that it is not actually from Kangaroos. Not to mention the Kangaroos are very relieved too, I would imagine.

You're light is still on.

I don't nosh at the PC with the family around. It just seems like one of the few times where we all sit down and share our day....hard to break that habit.

You get used to the relativity in Oz. Everything might be more expensive...but then our minimum wage is at $18 or $19 an hour at the moment.

No, I didn't see Walkabout. I rarely have time to catch a movie these days....unless it's a kid's movie with my DS.

I think that is nice. For that is how it should be really. Families sharing their meals together. In this busy world, it can be difficult for many to do that. So it is really very nice and refreshing to know that there are still some families that manage to make the time to do so. Good for you I say. :)

I guess I should try to go to sleep now, seeing that it is 2 in the a.m. Or I prefer to say actually, 0200 hrs.

So goodnight then... sleep tight..... dream of wining lotto numbers...

Buenos Noches Giselle. If you do dream of the winning lotto numbers...I hope you'll share with us Poster Gals and Guys of the LASTing Kind!

Catch you sometime.

Awww....poor PIO

I do keep an eye on what's happening...but don't partake much...
:surfweb:

I'm yawning....I'm yawning....

Might go get another early night tonight and try to get better.

I do....and I should sleep soon...but I've finally STOPPED yawning.... :headache:
I need sleep...but likely won't for a while

Night night!!
