does she have a routine...for example, come home from school, have a snack, do her homework, put it all away and get her back-pak ready for the next day, then she can hang out?

yeah she does, but I think it's more a problem at school than at home. She forgets to bring home assignments or tell us she needs supplies

sounds nice! I want a spa tub :goodvibes sounds like heaven!
we have one, that can fit two people...sometimes I put the kids in with a little bit of bubble bath...fill it up and then let the jets go...it makes so much bubbles....they look like there covered with marshmellow goo :rotfl:

Ok I got a few things to do, I'll be back later
:wave2:

hmm, I don't have any ideas for not bringing stuff home...DS is still at the age where the teacher put things in a folder for his backpack.

:rotfl: that sounds so cute!! we had a chessy thing that you hook on the side of the tub and it was supposed to be like a spa tub, but it wasn't. it was only good for bubbles. My nephew only used it once though, b/c it made too many bubbles and he got scared:rotfl:

...seems like all the Orli gals are steping out tonight.....:rolleyes1

have you ever seen those little fish/boat looking things that spin around in the bathtub? We got one once and it has a little propeler/fan thing that spins....it got stuck in DD's hair :scared1:

I wish it was that easy still! She has a planner that she's supposed to write her assingments in but she forgets. this is a tough year, b/c she has to make sure she keeps her grades up so she can apply vangard middle schools next year. We don't like the school she's zoned to go to, so we're trying to get her into a better one

 :scared1: Poor Girl!! Ok I really have to go now:rotfl: I'll be back in a few minutes!!:rotfl:

...mebbe something could be set up with the teacher...at the end of the day, have the teacher check to see that all the day's assignements are written. Once the teacher aproves (or is satisfied that they ARE) she can go to her desk (or wherever her books/supplies are) and just go down the list...like math testbook and notebook - put a check mark on that when she has gotten those books placed in her backpack, spelling notebook, check THAT off when THAT item is in her notebook, and so on...)

goodluck...middle schools are hard..I will have to cross that bridge too :scared:

That's what I was gonna suggest. The more of routine she has - throughout the day, not just in school, the better she'll do.

Well, it's been nice chatting with so many of you around tonight but I've got to get to bed. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your evening. See you tomorrow!

that is a really good idea. Her teacher has been really good about wanting to help her out, she says she wants her to get into a good school so she's really trying to help us out to. I'll run it past her and see what she thinks

I think I might try and switch it up alittle. Maybe add a few things to the list and give her a big reward at the end of the school year. She really wants to go to Six flags over Texas so maybe that will be a good incentive for her
