That is what it sounds like-- a big cover up.

I just don't want your kids (or you) used as the scapegoat!!!

Is there a school board or school council to talk to ?

The school board would be the next step. The wife of one of the school board members gave me their home phone number a couple of weeks ago and told me if stuff kept going on to call him at home. (His daughter is a teacher at our school and she's excellent! So we know them through her!)

It just really sucks since a lot of the good preschools get filled up in Feb/March or before and so I am really late now (one of my friends is checking today on the school near our workplace where her son is at....but some people camp overnight to get a spot there)...There is a great preschool near Mama's and I called, they put me on the wait list for the school...we have a shot at the early day (2:30) but not at the 5:00, too many people on the list. So, I don't know what to do. DH sort of said he could try and work parttime for a year or be a SAHD....but he has a really great job and he worked hard to get there, plus he is taking his doctorate classes now and taking off a year would basically kill his career and all the benefits we get from his job. So, I talked to my boss about me working parttime for a year, and for it to be only a year and it didn't look very positive. My boss is great and very nice/supportive, but it would be hard for me to get this at where I work and how HR is....I don't know what I am going to do....sorry, this was another long vent

Lyn - I'm so sorry. I was so wrapped up in my own problems this morning that I didn't have time to read back to see what I had missed yesterday. I'll have to go back and read what else you posted about the situation. I hope everything will work out for you guys! :grouphug:

Good for you Kathy. At least this way you got your point across to the Asst. Super. That way if anything else comes about you have it documents what happened before.

Hope that makes you feel a little better about the mess that happened this morning.

It makes me feel a little better.

But now I've lost my entire morning off dealing with this. :furious: I had so much planned to do today. But now I'm going to try to put this behind me and get started on what I need to do.

I am looking forward to Andrew getting home from school to see if anything was said or anything happened today.

I forgot to mention my other fun....

In the midst of the school call and talking to the asst. superintendent A.J.'s teacher called from the high school. Seems he needs a physical before he can participate in the Special Olympics on 4/27!! Do you know what it's like to get an appointment for a physical on such short notice! But I got lucky and they had a cancellation. So I called to tell the teacher that he would not be in tomorrow morning because he has a doctor's appointment. And she says, "Oh no, that won't work, he has the state language test tomorrow morning!" Hello, why wasn't I told when he was having it? And, let's see, what is more important to A.J. - - - Special Olympics, which makes him feel really good about himself or taking a state madated, regular-ed test that he WILL fail. He only has to take the test. There is no way he's going to pass it unless he gets lucky with the little bubbles that he colors in.

Oh, this isn't my day.

Okay, strike three. My day's been so bad that it's starting to be funny! :lmao:

DH just brought the mail in. We own a piece of property in Gatlinburg. We just got a reassessment notice. They doubled the value. That would thrill me if the property was usable! Long story is that the city says it's in a subdivision, state says it isn't. So we have to go by state rules/state laws and they say we can't get a septic tank on it because it's too steep. So now we have to appeal the reappraisal value or pay higher taxes on useless land!

Oh, this isn't my day.

Take him to his Dr. appt so he can do what makes him feel the best. And ask if there is anyway he can take the test later on in the day.

They'll just have to give him a make-up test later. Like I said, it's just a state mandated thing. He's a special ed student and he is required to read this test and answer! He only has to take it because "everyone" has to take it. No one expects that he could pass it. The teacher just doesn't want to have to deal with making it up. Oh well, too bad. Boy am I in a negative school mood for some reason.

:furious: :furious: I have to vent. I am so mad I'm crying and shaking! :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:

I received an email from a mom of one of the boys in Andrew's class last night around 9:00. She said her son had gotten in trouble at school for crushing Andrew's chips and that she had grounded him at home. She asked if Andrew was upset.

Long story made short...I asked Andrew about it. He said it was no big deal. I asked him if he thought Cody should be grounded at home for it and he said no. I should have known better than to answer that email but I did. I am so stupid.

This morning I get a call from the principal. She went off on me! Yelling at me over the phone! She said that they finally got this kid for all he's doing to Andrew and now I've undone everything. She evidently had suspended Cody over the incident and his mom took my email in there first thing this morning to appeal the suspension!!

1. She never said anything to me about school punishment, only being grounded at home!
2. How dare the principal blame me!
3. We've been round and round with the school since this fall about the h*** that Andrew has been put through and NOW they're finally going to take it seriously and suspend someone over a bag of chips!?!?!?

The school is looking for an excuse not to let a few of the "bad" boys go on the 8th grade trip and they're trying to do it at Andrew's expense. Then instead of moving on to the high school next year and being able to put all of this behind him he'll have those guys standing in the high school halls, pointing their fingers at him blaming him for costing them their trip!

I give up. I will trust no one! That mom betrayed me, the school has betrayed me. I just can't handle it any more.

I'm tempted to go down to the school and bring Andrew home for the day.

I finally have a day off where DH took A.J. to school so that I could get a jump on all I have to do here and now this. All I've been doing for an hour is crying. I just can't do it anymore.
Oh Kathy, I am so sorry :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I am reading your post tearing up....I don't know what to say, other than I feel so bad for your DS and it just sucks how things can be at school and with other kids...and, I think it was wrong for that other mom to even contact you via e-mail...she may have been trying to set you up....the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree  :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I hope it gets better :wizard:
